My friend just shared a touching story with me. This taxi driver father has a dd who got bone cancer at 10. She lost her lower limb(not too sure exactly) due to the cancer and went through Chemotherapy.

Despite missing school for over a year, she still insisted to sit for this yr PSLE. She scored 1 B 3A, tscore of 237 express. Her teachers all cried at that moment receiving her result.
Although i don't know her, I feel the proudness of her parents. I pray she recovers soon and send my blessing to her and family. :love:

I am very touched by the P6 girl.

All of us should learn from her. Go home must tell my DS about her.

3) Clementi sec (230) - recommended by teacher
4) CHIJ St Thersae (231) - recommended by cousin

7.1 The posting of pupils to secondary schools is based on merit according to three criteria: pupils’ PSLE results, their choices of schools and the vacancies available in the schools. A pupil who has performed better in the PSLE will have priority over another pupil who has not performed as well. The first pupil will be admitted first, subject to the availability of vacancies in the selected school. The second pupil will then be considered. If there is no more vacancy, the second pupil will be considered for his next choice school, again subject to the vacancies available in that school.7.2 Pupils who fail to get a place in any of their choice of schools will be posted to a school near their home which still has vacancies. However, they must have met the school’s lowest PSLE aggregate. As such, parents are advised to update any changes in official residential address by the stipulated deadline (see paragraph 10.1 for important dates).7.3 Pupils who indicate their affiliated secondary school as their first choice will enjoy priority for admission to that school, subject to the availability of places in that school and the pupils meeting all other admission criteria such as academic course requirements.

In addition, from the MOE website:

1. Secondary schools with Integrated Programmes have full discretion in student admissions.2. Autonomous Schools and Independent Schools can set aside 10% and 20% of their school vacancies respectively for discretionary admission.3. Schools with approved niches of excellence can set aside 5% of their school vacancies for discretionary admission.4. Students are selected during the Direct School Admission Exercise using school-based criteria, before the central posting exercise.

There will be a lot of pupils having the same t-score, then what sequence the system will take for those?

Ya, i share with ds who will be taking psle next yr. I can see the gal's strong will and she's a fighter! I witnessed children going for chemotherapy and it's a long tiring process.

Why not put Clementi Town Sec before Gan Eng Seng ? Since COP of Gan Eng Seng is lower, you can place it further down. Clementi Town is not so far from Tiong Bahru, just need to take MRT to Clementi. I heard from a friend whose son is in Clementi Town that his son's teachers are quite responsible, will call parent if child doesn't do homework or misbehave. I think parents like this kind of teachers

Based on this order of choices, if you can't get into Crescent, you will definitely get into Gan Eng Seng. Is this what you want ?

There will be a lot of pupils having the same t-score, then what sequence the system will take for those?

There would not be puils with the same score as the score has up til 12 decimal places ^^

How is t-score for mother tongue calculated? Would there be a different standard deviation for different mother tongues or are they calculated as one SD

My daughter would very much like to choose NYGS or RGS. but I think their cut off point are higher. Should I give it a try?

Can I appeal if fail?
2nd Tier would be Dunman High or NJC or NUS high.
and Only Dunman high is a SAP sch which accept +2.
Should I risk my first choice by choosing NYGS or safely put Dunman or NJC as first choice.
Please advise? Thank you very much.
