Hi everyone, which school Is better? Ngee Ann, Dunman Sec and Nan Chiau?
I visited all their open house. I think Nan Chiau have band 1 results. Ngee Ann and Duman Sec both band 5. The facilities in Ngee ann seem more impressive. The students who show us around is very confident. Cut off point almost the same for. all 3. Not sure how to compare. According to one teacher, Ngee ann is centre for Ict and dunman centre for science. -
my dd scored 247 + 1 (HCL), my school selection is:
1. CHIJ St Nic
2. Cedar
3. TKGS

How the MOE computer rank and select those who are affiliated?Okay lets say last year I scored 259 for my PSLE.
I placed Cedar Girls as my first choice. As MOE ranks each and every pupil who took the PSLE paper, when it is my turn, the computer would first look at my first choice, in this case Cedar Girls.
As Cedar Girls still has vacancies when it is my turn, I am admitted to Cedar Girls.
However, if I placed my choices like this:
1. School A (COP 262)
2. School B (COP 263)
3. School C (COP 262)
4. School D (COP 261)
5. School E (COP 263)
6. Cedar Girls
I placed Cedar Girls as my sixth choice.
So the MOE system would do it like this.
They rank each and every one who took the PSLE paper.
When it is my turn, the computer would see if there is any vacancy in my 1st choice, School A. If there isn't, the computer would move on to my 2nd choice, School B. Then to school C, school D and to School E.
Lets say there are no vacancy in any of my first five choices.
Then finally the computer would go on to my final choice, Cedar Girls.
There are vacancies in Cedar Girls, thus I am able to get into Cedar Girls.
Hope You understand my explanation ! -
I have a query. My son scored 258 +2 for HigherMT Chinese. He wants to put RI as the first choice and HC as the 2nd choice. Let's say, RI seats are all filled up. I understand that MOE will ranks students according to their aggregate score. So he will be ranked below student A who scored 259. Student's A first choice is HC. If student A fill up the last vacancy of HC, when my son's turn come he will have no more place in HC. How does +2 help in this case? :? please enlighten me.

How does +2HMT was taken into account in MOE ranking of students according to their aggregate score?
