Hi carebear, care to share how and what transport you take from KL to Sunway lagoon, or where you stay at KL and what is available there?I also just came back from kl and travelled on jetstar.
Asked the check in counter at klia what is the maximum weight for carry on luggage and the staff also said 10kg not 5kg.

You may want to refer to my previous posts for recommendations.
From KLIA, just buy a coupon from the taxi counter in the airport. Eg if you are going to KL, you buy coupon to KL, then get in the taxi and tell driver the exact location you want to go.l I stayed in the Berjaya Times Square Hotel which is very convenient. -
Can any mummies advise how soon it is to reach KL by taking KTM train in Singapore ? And once there is it very far to Berjaya Times Square Hotel ?Thanks!

Have not taken train to KL but to Penang.
But I think to KL it will take 6 hours.
If I am not mistaken the train station at KL is Sentral station.
To get to Berjaya Times Square, if you want to take the train from Sentral, alight at Jln Imbi. However if you got lots of luggage, you may want to take a taxi instead. I don't know if there are taxi coupons there, but it is definitely better to purchase coupons to board a taxi if available. -
Thanks! phew… my collegues r telling me to expect 8-9 hours (ie dun trust the KTM website) …anyone knows if first class have tv ?? cos not sure my 2 boys can stay still throughout…are taxi coupons expensive & valid for how long ? Underst I can buy it at major shopping malls.

Hahahaha.....
Your colleagues may be right, with all the delays, who knows.
Maybe you could bring some form of entertainment on board eg Nintendo DS or PSP for your boys?
As far as i know, taxi coupons are valid for the same day of purchase. Yes, major shopping malls have stands which sell these coupons.
I purchased a coupon to get to KLIA from the stand outside the hotel which was slightly cheaper than asking the hotel concierge to get for you. I think the hotel also gets the taxis from the same stand! -

We just came back from KL, went there on KTM train, start on time at 8am and reached KL Sentral at around 3:30pm (scheduled time is 2.54pm). Was on first class train, they do have a tv, but no one is watching it. We brought alot of board games to keep the kids occupied, and alot of titbits, and it is like a picnic, eat from start till end. Supposedly to go KL to buy the return ticket, but out of expectation, all train ticket was sold out for the day we intend to come back. :!: Make a mad scramble to look for coach back, and manage to find Grassland coach, for RM60,Royal VIP class. You will have to buy taxi coupon at the KL sentral, and cost us RM13 for trip to Bukit Bintang. -
I mean small board games, as the seat handles is too small for a full size monopoly. Bring card games.

can I ask how r the conditions of the trains? I previously took the sleeper trains… but that was like 10 yrs ago… was thinking of planning a trip up, but I’m worried that the trains are not maintained properly (ie. dirty, skanky etc)… can share your experience?

Quite ok, at least the carpet didn't smell. But the toilet is still quite bad. They do have one cleaner walking up and down the train with a cleansing spray on hand to clean up anything. One of the kids puke, too much of titbits, and the cleaner was very quick to clean it up. We took the train ride mainly to let the kids experience long distance ride, and they enjoy it, but the question is still there \"Are we there yet?\"
