Thanks a lot. We are teochews so we are can't join the huayguan. Looks like Pei Hwa got higher chance or maybe better cause my son is a tiger baby! Anyone know of any apartment within 1 km of Pei Hwa, let me know!

Since your son is still young, you can seriously consider looking around for a permanent place...ample time to do that. Flats/apartment getting more expensive by the day and prices are sky high now...very scary.

Sorry to say this but this yr was supposed to be the yr of record low births. Yet we set several new 'records' for balloting under 1km. So the hypothesis that Tiger babies will have it easier has to be refuted. I think the fact ascertained from this yr's experience is that popular schs will always remain popular irregardless of birth rates 😒 .

I agree with markfch, the idea of 'low birth rate' = higher chance, doesn't quite stand now. 2004 is supposed to be all time low compared to other years but there were many schools saw which balloting within 1km.

My understanding for the sudden record school application was mainly due to our "relax" immigation laws. So, using "child birth rates" for certain chinese horoscope characters are no longer a strong validation.

There are MORE applicants under Phase 2C now applying for schools...and these applicants can afford to stay near school of choice...which is also one reason why Singapore is accepting them.

                  Dear Parents,

I can’t find any statistics on the latest balloting history for 2010 Primary 1 Registration. Can someone tell me what was it like in Phase 2C for Pei Hwa and MGS? what was the cut-off, as in balloting required for <1km, or between 1-2 km?

                  thanks a lot!!

balloting definitely required for MGS below 1km. It will be a miracle if it doesn't happen next year. But considering the number of new condos sprouting up around MGS, the chances are going to be worse than previous years.
