Hi ELcurve,
If I have to suffer 8 hours in the office to come back to MORE stress, might as well I stay at home…looking after the kids and coaching them in their studies is tough enough. If I have to go out to work and outsource to tutors, that’s even worse.
Tutors nowadays have no sense of responsibility.
Even though kids have tuition, I still believe in being the ‘backup’…I don’t know exactly how my kids are coached but giving them the extra boost helps. At least it ‘tells’ the tutor I know what is happening. -

that's his point....to make it my incentive to stay at home. been through a lot of stress when i was working previously....after stressful day at work, he don't want to go home to face more stress in child rearing, academic, ILs-relations etc, hence he prefers to forgo holidays/vacations/extra savings from the additional income.
I thought your hubby will be happy (or happier) to have his wife help him share the financial load. If like what you mentioned, everything remains status quo, might as well you stay at home. I don't think I can go back to work, endure 8 hours of stress in the office and come back to face housework & coaching kids in their studies.
maybe he knows i will neglect the family once i start working again..... -

haha...spot-on.
i agree.. it seems as if ur DH would prefer that you take care of kids needs over possible financial gain from you working outside. if you have to take on even more work by going out to work, then should stay at home. you are busy enough as it is..
can see significant amount of 'happiness' on the faces of my dh and ds1 ever since i stayed at home. -

My hubby is also not a holiday kinda of person...we don't have the travel bug at all...esp with the craziness of plane mechanical problems now, volcano smoke and all the packing. Oh yes, not to forget my kids' fussy eating. So we rather stay in Singapore.

If I go back to work, the schedule will change drastically...kids will be in morning session and noons are dedicated to their homework & revision. -

with the single income, i hope to be able to coach my boys in the rest of the subjects (except CL) for as long as possible. it is very tempting to want to sign up for popular enrichment classes, but that means more financial commitment and lesser justification of me staying at home.

Today, I'm a newly re-appointed SAHM.
All hail the long-suffering, all-appeasing, totally-skillful, too-flexible to describe, unconditional-loving SAHM.
