It's like asking will the stock market goes up tomorrow? Or will the economy recovers by next year. Ha! Ha! Ha!!!   Your question too is a million dollar question to me.

I can only say based on last few years statistics there is high chance no ballot. πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™

But like what most stock analysts said: \"history may or may not repeats itself\".   😐

Best thing is to watch the situation and see how many vacancies there are left after earlier phases. I think Nanyang has a bigger intake than SCGS so number of vacancies may be higher. But then again it's co-ed so you might have more children applying there. Good luck! Both are very good schools. Just depends on which one's more suitable for your child.

Different schools have different cultures. Some are more academically-inclined. They do a lot more homework and have less focus on CCAs and other activities. Some schools are more holistic and less focused on academics. Some are more into aesthetics.

Will your child thrive or wilt under pressure? Is CCA important to your child? Go to the open houses if there are any and see if you like what you see.

I would say for most kids, which primary school they go is decided by the parents. It is when come to secondary then the kids will have some say; but it will still depends on the PSLE result by then.

well, I think most kids will be swayed by their peers. So if all their peers going to a particular sec school, it’s entirely likely that they will also want to go there. Therefore, the primary school will play a part again.

(at least that was my experience)

Hi all, I need advice here. I’ve got 2 sch to PV in mind but can only choose one of the sch cos I’m FTWM and got 3 kids to look after.

Choice 1: Rulang Pr-diff to get into their PV as still need to write essay on what I can contribute. Not sure what they need. But once get into their PV and get into the sch.

Choice 2: West Grove Pr-got lots of PV this yr and the principal is accepting all of us so we may need to ballot even if we’ve clocked 40hrs.

Do you think I shd just do PV at WGPS and forget abt Rulang cos I stay within 1km within WGPS so got higher chance to get in?

I would suggest you try both as to secure better chance. In terms of the 2 schools, Rulang Pri seem to be the better ones.

titank, thanks for your prompt reply. All along, I thot Rulang is better than WGPS. But heard that Rulang’s std has dropped. Not sure if it’s true.
