I think that there is ZERO excuse for cheating so they shouldnt try and make up any lame excuses! The ever classic excuses:

      1. I dont know what happened
      2.IT WAS THE ALCOHOL.
      3.I was finding myself
4.Your not giving me enough love ( or whatever other stuff he throws at you)
Basically, if a man/woman loves you enough, they would never do anything to hurt you, so dont fall for their excuses and their sad life stories. Divorce them because this affair they have proves to you they dont really love you as much as they said they did.
In the end, I think that you should chose the right person before marriage to avoid such situations.
If you’re the cheater… YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

        Scenario 1

Guy A - Neighbor whom my older brother and I grew up with.

Married his sec school sweetheart after 10 years of (love?) marathon. They were both 23. They have 2 children. 10 years later, he asked for out, to marry a distant relative. Wife pleaded, on behalf of children, Guy A did not relent. Now, another 10 years have past, the grown-up children who lives with the wife (divorced but unmarried still) do not talk to their father (Guy A).

        Lady B - A colleague.

Married a friend she met through "blind date" arrangement. Said that she found the "one" he was exciting and handsome. 13 years later, she divorced her husband to be the third party in another colleague’s marriage. They have no children (both marriages).

I am a victim of cheating partner twice before. Lucky both were BGF. We were not married.

One relationship was 2.5 years and another about 1 year.

The girl that was with me for 2.5 years, I was her first boyfriend. She was a virgin when she met me at 25 years old. I never for a second thought she would ever cheat on me. The only kind thing she did was to break off with me after getting hitch with the 3rd party.

It is also kind of a karma for me because when I was younger, I was a 3rd party before. They were together for 3 years before she met me. They were not married yet too.

So through all these experiences, what I learned is that you have to be very careful and strict with yourself. If you allow yourself to have feelings, sometimes its too late. Before I married my DW, I told her after marriage I would not go out with any girl alone. I asked her if she could do the same.

Both of us agreed and have not broken the agreement. If we were to got out, we always go together as a couple. Sometimes DW do complain I am strict but I always remind her that whatever I asked of her, I do the same and also the high divorce rate these days. Now I bring in my DD into the discussion as well:oops:

This probably may not work for other couples. I was quite clear of what I want so I chose to marry someone who can accept my smoking and also value marriage so strongly that they would agreed to make sacrifice of freedom. Honestly if my DW did not agree then perhaps we might not even get married.

I have a female best friend which is now married too. We all go out together now - her and her DH plus me and my DW. Four of us together and these days we sometimes bring along my DD - they have not got any children yet. My relationship with this female best friend actually sort of "decline" after both of us got married. We used to share lots of stuff and talk hours on the phone and go karaoke together. We hardly even chat these days but both of us did not pursue it.

If both parties value their marriage a lot, be strict and careful with themselves then chances are not high.

I did not chose the option "love each other to bits" though as after our DD is born…not so lovely dovey now…but that’s a discussion for another day.
