Parents of children in P5 this year, can you please advise the first topic for Science ? Sorry, blur and forgetful if ever mentioned earlier.
Is it ‘Systems’ or ‘Cycles’ ? Thanks. -

Yes, the gate next to Glory Presb is the Side Gate.
That should be the side gate. Back Gate is facing the HDB blocks.panda8064:
Is that gate considered the side gate? Thanks.

if FT were to ask ds that qn on the first day, ds can only give his best impersonation of a blur look.

That's a clever response too! Hehe. Don't be surprised, kids rise up to the occasion better than adults sometimes. You'll see more kancheong parents on the first day of school...hehe...easy for me to say cos my turn's passed.
I remembered my anticipation for her to be dismissed and controlling my tears when I saw her, trying to put on a brave front. Hehe...first child experiences... -

I used to pick up my dd from the Side gate too.
Then I discovered a lot of parents moved to the back gate and do likewsie too. Reason ...
1. Side gate do not have a shelter on raining days
2. Side gate is near to the church entrance and sometimes they have oncoming cars.
3. Back gate though has a lot of parents/students, do have a shelter and not too near the road.
4. If you are staying nearby, it has sheltered walkway linked to quite a number of the HDB blocks.
5. For those driving, you will have more access to parking lot because at the side gate you will have to park near the hawker centre and have to fight for parking lots with diners
Another thing to note, as P1/2 are too young, PH allow parents to choose
1. Pick the students from the gate - kids will go to the back gate and wait for parents after flag lowering.
2. Allow parents to go in and pick up the children. -
Thanks for all the useful tips regarding the pick up gates. Didn’t know there were so many factors to consider. May consider the back gate then.

Sorry to repeat this. May I know if anyone need S size socks? Bought a pack of 5 pairs but too small for my kid. Selling off at $9 inclusive of mail as they do not allow exchange of size for socks. Original price is $10. Please e-mail at
Parents of this year P4, what's the first Science topic taught- Cycles or Interaction? MTIA.
Hi Jennifer, dd says cycles first.
P4 - Cycles, Interactions and Energy.
Thank you. -
Just called the school to check on my ds class. The clerk mentioned, so many ppl did not receive the letter…

May I know what is written in the letter beside stating the class? They will not send another letter to us. -

Unfortunately I still observe ds to be the nonchalant kind. The more bo-chap he is, the more kancheong I'll become. Last weekend he was upset that his cousin refused to play with him (my niece prefers to play the piano, why can't ds be more like her  ), then I explained to him that in life everyone has a choice so we shouldn't force them. DS listened quietly.markfch:

Yesterday in the car I asked ds to share his chocolate with me. His response was: 'You said we all have a choice, so now I choose not to share my chocolate with you.' :faint:
Well after that incident, I'm definitely not shedding any tears on this impudent boy (first child or not
). In any case, I couldn't take leave first week of Jan so I can't be present anyway.
