may I ask how to label the books?

      thanks
The basic info is the child's name and the class. For CL textbooks and activity books, do include the name in Chinese characters.

In the past, I also put in a smaller note for Lost & Found info \"If found, please return to a) PHPPS Class xxx, or b) our home address. I have seen many cases of displaced books left in public places

Some write the basic info directly on the books or the insides of the books. Some use the label printers to print the basic info and then paste on the book covers.

I chose to print the basic info using Microsoft Excel, then pasted on the inside of the plastic wrapping used to wrap the books. This way, I can reuse the plastic wrapping for 2nd semester and also when donating the books to NTUC in Nov, the rec'g party gets to hv a cleaner cover.

        hey thanks janet... 😄

hi le-ann, thanks... i will check out both brands... 😄
I bou both Creative and Besta for my elder boy. He prefers Creative.

One word of caution, e-dict are very lacking in explaining the context of how a character/pair of character shld b used. It is still better to rely on hardcopy dict. I wld recommend getting a EL to CL and also a CL to EL dict.

thanks jennifer, will take a look at both... but if hard copies, then won't it be so heavy for our kids to carry 2 dictionaries to school i.e. eng to chi and chi to eng?

My boys only take the normal CL dict to sch. The EL-CL and CL-EL dicts are for use at home.

It's impt for the child to be familiar with 词语...like 架 can be 'blended with' 书架,一架,打架.

Thanks to the admin for clearing up the clutter (too many nested quotes) .

Will be buying ds's shoes soon. Are BATA shoes good enough for P1 activities or are there others that are better value for money?

                Any hints pls, thanks.

I bought one pair of BATA sneaker shoes cos their feet are still growing, hence BATA. Half way through the school year, one size up already. That’s my experience.

Thanks ruaqt2. DW also thinks BATA shoes are good enough for P1/P2 levels. If next time ds goes for tennis or basketball lessons, then at that time it would be better to get shoes designed for specific sports so that his ankles will be protected.

It's good to buy school shoes which allows you to remove the base to wash...BATA allows that. Used to buy from World of Sports but quality is not good. After several washes, the shoes are at the end its life. 😢

                        Hi all,

Would like to ask is there a possibility to transfer from one primary school to another one. My son in p2 next year. I wish I can transfer him to pei hwa preb. Any advice how to approach this matter? Thanks
