I'm also wondering my son was posted to a different class from his other classmate who had close scores...furthermore, both not taking HCL next year. He is is Loyalty 1 but the other classmate is in Loyalty 3. How is the posting done ?

Hi Janet, I think most probably it is because other than the top 3 or 4 class, the rest are being S-Banded and distributed equally throughout, hence no last or lousiest class.

From what I have gathered, the top class for both P3 and P4 will be the class with the last number for that respective level. Apparently, not likewise for P2 class allocation. :?

Yup that's right. For Pri 3, Responsibility 9 is the top class followed by 8 and so on.

U R Right, My Gal Confirm for P6 Also,
The Top Class is Resilience 10, follow by Resilience 9 ....

But One Puzzuling Thing she Brought up, One of her Classmate in P5 (Faith 5) who does Avg in Class is sent to Resilience 1 ???? :?
Hope it's a Typo Error .... And she is supposed to be in Resilience 10 ....
Else All our Theory about Top Class .... Goes Ka-Pum!
Ha Ha....

Now My Gal is Pondering on How to Shortform the Class Name Next Year ???? :?

Shall it be : RES (NOPE ! : Got Responsibility, etc Already ....)
Or Should it Be RSL, RESI, RESL, .... Ooooh So many Combination to Choose from ....
How ???? :?
Haha, yes Funx3, I'm also thinking hard what is the short-form for Responsibility... :? but for now, I will write for DD in full first... πŸ˜‰

the cut-off for Responsibility 8 was 274, so 273s will go to Responsibility 7; while 267/266 will go to Responsibility 6.

Wow, Happy Mama, you are so resourceful! Any idea what's the cut-off for Responsibility 9? No obligations. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

I am puzzled! My girl scored 273 and was posted to Responsibility 7. My neighbour's daughter scored 271 but was posted to Responsibility 8. WHYYY IS THAT SO???????????????????????? :?:

Hmm? That's quite impossible because I have done my checks and yes, the cut-off for Responsibility 8 was 274, so 273s will go to Responsibility 7; while 267/266 will go to Responsibility 6. All marks are very close this year. Extremely competitive.
Really, the 271 kid was absolutely posted to Resp 8. You seem very familiar with the system, would you be able to elaborate on the system?:) I'm really unsure D:

You sure her 271 was for overall final results (CA, SA1 & SA2) and not SA2 total? Anyway, will check it out and ask P if there's a chance. And... no la, I'm not familiar with the system la  just that I am a KP and KS mummy, so I tend to ask around. Haha!

During my elder boy class promotion from P4 to P5, he told me the 2nd class position did not get to P5 CH becos he flouted a sch rule in P4.

Could class behaviour also play a part in class placement?

well, if there is 2 students having the same marks and there is only 1 vacancy left in CH class, who will they give to? of course the one with good conduct....

Oh ya, FT told me that behaviour also plays a part as they cannot put too many so called rowdy kids in the same class; which I find is a little unfair.

My P3 boy was in a class with a few \"more playful\" boys. In the end, the teachers hv more disciplinary issues to contend with. The CL teacher even told the pupils she does not want to hear broadcasting news when the victim tried to tell her someone bullied him.
