      INNOVATE:
Take a look at the postings of 25hrmaid, she had offered excellent advices and had taken a no-nonsense approach in this instance.

Let us all learn from such episole and hope that parents are wiser in excercising the choices next year.
Aiyo, INNOVATE, you make me    I didn't help much, merely sharing my own experience with others, but like you said, it is up to the parents to decide if they want to follow our advice.

Read that we can appeal to as

Many schools as we want but does that affect our chances ofbeing accepted to our dream school via appeal? Say my Ds wants to go to hci and we appeal to both hci and njc, will hci \"know \" that we have also appealed to other schools and therefore rejects my son's appeal?
        appeals are not linked

For HCI, since you did not place it as your top choice, you are out. Try NJC instead. Schools do not know how many appeals you are undertaking.

Prepare a dam good reason why NJC should accept your appeal.

Not true. Last year there were ppl who got in by appeal into HCI and HCI wasn't even one of their 6 choices. And neither HCI nor NJC will know you are appealing to another school.[/quote]That is correct

just call RGS and was told that the appealing result will be released by today.

              can't wait anymore...
My friend just got a call from the school for the appeal. Applied under category 1.

It was my dh’s idea to put hci as second choice and I went along w it. Not knowing the consequences… If I have followed closely to the threads, I would have given it a second thought. As mentioned earlier, dh and i discussed till 3am the night before and only able to decide just an hr away from subission time. Yes I have to admit I feel like kicking myself now and that I felt guilty and sorry for Ds for being the one who is responsible for spoiling his chances of getting into hci. What is done cannot be undone. I will definitely not repeat Tis mistake when it is my ds2 and 3’s turn.

there is no need to blame anyone, not youeself nor your DH. hindsight is always perfect.just do the needful thing to go appeal at HCI. someone posted that there are cases where HCI was not even in the 6 choices but still managed to appeal in

Octopusmum, good luck to your appeal. If appeal is not successful, don’t feel so sad as RV is also a good sch.

                        HI Verykiasu2010 and sall

thks for trying to console me. i guess the person who went in via appeal and didn’t select HCI at all must have gotten v v high score.

i just received a call from my mum who asked where her grandson is posted to. the moment she heard RV, she said : wah, so far. almost everyone i know has the same reaction when i told them this. their reaction sounds like , the poor kid has to travel so far everyday for 6 years because the mother wants him to be in IP. some , eg my mum, said why not CHS, CHS is a good school and is much nearer to where we stay. of course, my mum doesn’t know anything about the current school system, what is IP etc and she is not the only one…

when we go house visiting come CNY, i can bet with you, the relatives/friends will have the same reaction and i can just imagine dh’s reaction. i am not sure if i can take the "pressure" then. i don’t think i want to go into details on how IP works, and why i go for RV instead of CHS etc
