VERY VERY KIASU...bought quite a bit of P5 English assessment books earlier this year...each book has about 6-7 revision exercises. So will start him in the last week of Dec on comprehension. My son's 作文 also the lowest. His new tutor will return after Christmas and will start tuition. Cannot waste time.
I remember you have several P6 books from your nephew. Can start doing some of them.
Hi Janet, thank you for remember that. We had used a few Science Assessment Books for revision when preparing the P5 Science SA2 Exam. We had started P6 CA1 papers for all the 4 subjects’ weeks ago and now slow down the speed and touch on some new topics of Maths and especially CL compo. which needs time to improve the quality of writing.

Since your nephew passed you the books, they are very 'current' and appropriate for use. BTW, has your child's Science teacher finished most of the syllabus in P5 ?

Yes. All syllabus in P5 Science had completed before SA2 Exam.

            Wow  That's really tough.
Upper block 'System' topic is not easy...thought Systems, Cycles and maybe another topic will be taught at P5.

P5 usually will cover major topcis of Cycles and System.

              System include :
              System in Living Things
              Cells
              Electical System

Quite a numbers of new words on Cells need to remember as well as their function.

              Cycles include
              Water
              Reproduction in Plants
              Sexual Reproduction in Human

As for P6, will be Interactions and Energy.

BTW, how you find the book ?

May I barge in here ? I find the section on confusing pairs valuable. Some of them have been touched on by TAS in various threads in this forum.

                    Hi Brenda10,

So P5 Science will cover Systems and Cycles.

                    For Systems:
There are new words to remember (functions of plant and animal cells) and also the symbols for Electrical system.

                    Cycles:
Will cover heredity and sexual reproduction in humans.
Son is in a co-ed school and at P5, I’m sure the kids will be giggling away.
I remember studying more about Human Reproduction in Sec 3 (Human and Social Biology…thick textbook).

                      Hi Janet

I would think so as we only start seeing topcis like interaction and Engery under upper block on those P6 CA1 paper or SA1 paper. My nephew school aslo cover this two topics in P6.

Yes dd is from co-end school so is nature they will :!:

                        Hi Brenda10,

I don't take a look at P6 Science books...so not quite sure what will be taught...but I suppose CA1 for P5 should be some topics under 'Systems'. Human Respiratory, Human Circulatory system and Cells are not easy.

At P6, the teachers would have to rush through Interaction and Energy in the 1st half of the year, in time for revision.

I think I can expect more white hair to grow from next year onwards 😢 😢
