      bigfoot:

Yes, I am excited too. Am thinking is it so important to have coins or phonecard? I believe the office will surely allow the kids to call if there is an emergency right? Anyway, my DS still doesn't know how to make phonecall yet. Must teach him. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cherrygal, how do u intend to drive to school from Shunfu? Which way is better in your opinion? I have two options. Go via AMK Ave 1 or Braddell Rd. If go via AMK Ave 1, shd we turn right Lor Chuan into Serangoon or continue to go straight? There is just so many ways to get there but we are not sure which way to go. Maybe we shd ask the bus driver since they shd know better? :?
bigfoot - my fren who drives tell me NOT to do the Uturn route (coming down from opp school - Bartley Rd) cos nobody is going to let you signal and cut in as the car queue stretches for quite a distance.

I've received my school bus call liao!! Going to be 2 way since mrg pickup is a difference of 15mis (between taking bus and driving - we targetted to leave hse at 630pm). But first day i think we will fetch him down ourselves. Am getting dh to park at Serangoon HDB carpark and then take MRT one stop down...

What's your plan for first day?

Shouldn't be a problem u-turning. I've been driving that route for a year and found it manageable even at peak hour in the morning. The cars can't move anyway so i just inch out lor ๐Ÿ˜„ But, yeah, prepare for bad traffic the first week :D. It's definitely a good idea to park and take the mrt.

Btw, the boys usually wear their ties on Mondays unless they are in PE attire.

            24hr-mum:
just curious, at dismissal time, r the parents supp to wait outside the side gaten or are they allowed to enter the sch to wait for the boy eg at canteen?

where does that temple-like facade entrance along bartley lead to? sec or pri section? ie the main entrance

are the kids allowed to keep textbks in sch? got locker?
Parents wait at the side gate if the boys walk out. If you want to drive in to pick up, they wait outside the general office, but cars aren't allowed in until the sch buses drive off, so it's a pretty long wait for them.

Do be careful with all the cars double or even triple parked along the road outside the side gate. They even park at the bus stop and it can be chaotic and dangerous for the boys. And watch out for the traffic police who drop by once in a while due to complaints by irate drives.

In the morning, usually negligible waiting time if we arrive before 7am. From 7am to 7.15am, probably about 5-10mins from the u-turn part, because many parents drop the boys off by the official reading time of 7.10am and also cos they want to enter CTE before 7.30am. But i've waited for more than 20mins before when it rains or when accidents happen. If you are on the opposite road and see an unmoving line of cars, don't bother to wait in the jam to u-turn. Just stop safely near the bus stop that's past the Bartley church and ask yr son to cross the overhead bridge.

Thks for sharing, so for the first day of school even the P1 boys got to put on the tie? Or do they don't have to until being told \"officially\" to put on the tie in future? I think I am getting more excited than my son!

First day of school term for 2011 is on Tuesday 4th January. No need to wear tie on a Tuesday.

I thought the first day of the academic year must wear tie? Thatโ€™s usually a tradition for schools with ties as part of their uniform, isnโ€™t it? Iโ€™ll check with my colleagues.

I got the zip type (with spiderman print) on the cover. Figured this type easier cos he can throw his pencil/ eraser/ colourinng pencil/ sharpener all in. ๐Ÿ˜‰
