Guess what...i only received my p3 son's letter on class posting yesterday. We called on 16/12 when we still didn't receive it. PH said to let them know again on 17/12 if still no letter. So we called on 17/12 again and they promptly sent a new one. We received the new letter on 20/12 (stamp dated 17/12). Then yesterday we received the first letter with stamp dated 10/12! I wonder where did the first letter go during the last 12 days.
Classic example that SingPost longer able to fulfil next day delviery as they claim. I have observe this trend in the last few years. -
Happy Mama:
But it was a little late, cos SA1 results pulled my DD down eventhough she got 96 all subjects for SA2. :stupid:
Your girl is an all rounder. That's very good. :celebrate: -

Hi markfch, when my kid was in K, i said something similar as you and could not understand why Spore parents are so KS. but after entering PH, i still got trapped into this competitive pressure.. the environment rubs into you. well, that's why we are in KS forum now? :lol:dyh:

Who says parents cannot relax  ? From P1 to P2 I intend to relax. I'll just teach ds whatever I feel like teaching him under the sun, regardless of the syllabi. Will only follow the syllabi from P2 onwards cos by then got streaming mah.
[/quote]Totally agree!

yup, checked the first page just now, found the parents named in \"mummy\", their kids are definately in the same level, belong to P3. hehehelizhi, you can checked out the first page... there is a list of PHPPS parents in this forum and you will know which level their kids are in....
you can go \"marketing\" together with E3 since both the dd are in the same class. you can also invite happy mama along, her dd's class is just next to your dd's class...haha...
i am already familiar with E3 and Happy mama these few days.. :celebrate: -
Hi markfch,
A friend of mine commented on the competitiveness in Pei Hwa...ex-colleague of hubby also made the same comment. It's hard to explain to any parent what the environment in Pei Hwa is...until they get sucked into it. That's why this thread has 400 pages ! That must be a reason.
:welcome: to Pei Hwa. -

I know, I know. DS kindy principal highlighted to me that PH is very academically driven at least on 3 separate occasions when she knew that ds is going there. Is she giving me some kind of hint? :?Hi markfch,

However I also heard that at P1/P2 level (not specifically PH), there is very little homework and most kids will be able to finish everything in sch. So can't be so bad what. -

At lower primary like P1 for eg, homework may not be all that bad but in the event of little or no homework, it's advisable to build up the foundation for all the subjects. Instill the idea of a time-table in the child's head from P1 and he/she will know what to do everyday.

It was painful doing so in the beginning...mornings were spent revising with him. Nights I accompanied him to finish up homework and then bedtime. -

Haha. When my eldest was in K2, I brought her along for my gynae appointments when expecting my no. 3. When gynae knew our intention of sending dd to PH, her first comments were, \"Oh, that school assigns A LOT of homework.\" I remembered her desuading me a couple of times (with good intentions) from registering dd to PH, and suggested MGS instead. I almost heeded her advice cos when your life and the one inside were in her hands, you'll do anything she says. Haha. Well...we decided to still give PH a go, not regretting it since.
I am sure you won't as well.
