HI Parents,
Merry Christmas to all of you. All the best in 2011.
Parents with children going to P1,
All the best to all of you, and wish you all an interesting journey ahead. -
I can understand Markfch's point of view regarding taking a more relax approach for his DS in P1. For me, after taking such a approach, I change 'gear' as DD is promoted to CH2. Change her chinese enrichment class from a non-academic one to a highly academic one. Monitor her EL, Math more closely than ever. Hee hee more KS as the teachers' marking is very strict. Very difficult to obtain high mark for composition/compre. Maybe the teachers expect more from this class. So I believe all parents will definitely put in more effort from P2 onwards. Come to P3, slack abit, getting use to such marking and class position. Hence loose abit of steam. Now have to charge up again for new programme in new school.

Don't worry she got do-re-mi, so she'll be around long after my ds done with PSLE  . Anyway doesn't mean that if you offer me an apple, I'll eat it what, get what I mean, get what I mean
Look like there is a high possibility that we will lose E3 soon. i am looking at her profile, her no 2 will not be in time to enrol into PHPPS soon. if not, we might be able to keep her for another few years.... -

When son went to P1, the first few months were spent adjusting to school culture and environment...the discipline was really strict. Switched him from group tuition to individual for CL and his grades improved.
Teachers stricter in P2 as kids are supposed to be more adjusted...also drilled him in all his subjects. -

Phew! Finally somebody emphathise with my pt of view  . I don't mean totally turned off academically during P1, just that monitor a little bit will do since there's not too much pressure imposed by system yet.
Since PH so nice to give chance for P1, so must take full advantage otherwise P will be disappointed, haha. Just like if Popular got sale @80% discount, must also take advantage. Same logic liddat.
Yah comfy, like what php mentioned, do pop-in once in a while and tell us whether the parents @ NYPS are as active as us  . -

Looking at NYPS thread, it is not as active as PHPPS. Hence after reading this thread silently for a few days, can't help myself, decide to barge in again. Hope that NYPS thread will be as lively/helpful as this one.
