I did think of SJIJ but I baulked at having to endure the jam along Thomson Rd in the mornings. The distance is about the same. I also wanted my boy to try CL1. Didn't think about the IP school part but my target is RI... hahaha
hi cherrygal, bigfoot, - just curious, did u consider SJI, since it was also balloting only for out of 2km for sji at phase 2b? also cath sch, boy sch, and even IP. except its not sap sch.
thot IP sch even better?
but it has 4 feeder sch and so competition for sji independent (sec section) will be higher.
how is sji vs maris? academically n other areas? -
i jus read from the sji thread that its moving to old victoria sch site for PRIME in 2012. is it true? i wont consider if its true.
-
I think I heard about SJIJ moving too… you can check with MOE website. Think it’s true.
-
dunno if i shd move or just risk the balloting for chs and maris.
both need ballot, unless within 1km or 1-2 km of maris i suppose
stimes i just think, aiya, let Him decide. -

The last time we park there, the car park is not too full at all. But not sure how is it like these days. If B413 side car park is full, try B418 side, worst case, try the B425 side. The number of available lots will be displayed at the entrance of these car parks. I believe there should enough lots.usaik:
Seragoon Central is actually more conducive than to walk from Tai Keng or How Sun. Choose to park at a car park lot right in front of Blk 413 and you will see S'goon MRT exit A. The car park is ERP gantry style. No need to worry about coupon tearing or traffic Police.
I wonder whether the carparks at serangoon central would be full or not. Anyway, I would still park at serangoon central after dropping my DS and DW at the school. Coincidentally, we were planning to move to serangoon a few months again. We were looking for houses area those few blocks. But we changed our mind later as we feel that with the NEX shopping mall, there would be carpark problem. Now even MSH also encourage parents to park their cars there. If I'm a resident there, I'd surely make noise! HA!
MSH all along encourage parents to park there all these years instead of at the private estates making parents flaunt the traffic rules.
Actually most parents hardly need to park except on first day of school for P1 or some special occasion. -

bigfoot, i guess if u hv a daughter, wld aim for st nicks....
My DW worried abt P1 if we have a daughter cos her Pri Sch was in Bukit Merah area. Yes, St Nicks would be good but we may have to go in at Phase 2C and U know what will happen if we are unsuccessful. Furthermore, we are more than 2 km from St Nicks. Nearest would be Ai Tong (1-2km). Anyway, like I said, it is a happy problem for me. Haha. -

I did consider SJIJ but we have fren kids who are in SJIJ and we reeveived not very good feedbacks. We have also read from newspaper and online forums about complaints from parents a few years back. SJI is no doubt a good sec sch. Much as I want to send my son to a Catholic school, somehow SJI is just off my radar. I would prefer CHS and now MSH if my son did not do well in PSLE to qualify for CHS. Of course RI is top of my list. Haha.was surprised to learn that nearest parking is at serangoon ctl!

p.s Oh one more thing, MSH is a SAP school. We also prefer our son to study CL at a higher level. -

Hi Bigfoot
Tot u were catholics? It would still be Phase 2B for St Nicks. If I aim there for my gal, then maybe I will move to sembawang hills. But looking at statistics, it may be the same case as CHS where we run the risk of not getting a place despite being within 1km. You won't stand a chance at Ai Tong if you are more than 1km away. Still deciding... -

Hey, my DS2 is 2008 baby. Guess our younger son will be at the same level again. But I will try CHS again. Because it is really really convenient for me. The gate is just beside my blk!
Hi bigfoot, just wondering - how old is your ds2? I have 2 younger boys (2007 and 2008) - wondering if our subsequent boys would be same level also - like ds1!
