All About Life Without Maids

I wonder -- do husbands of SAHM, without maids, help out in the household chores and ferrying kids to school? And for CNY springclean, who does it? Wife, both, or engage third party services.
Care to share? -

Husband does help me, as I find it time wasting to bring my little baby to childcare every morning and come back again to do my laundry. Husband on the way to work can drop my baby there. Although sometimes I do go along together to childcare. For household, husband does help to do cook sometimes, change my baby and night routine sometimes.I wonder -- do husbands of SAHM, without maids, help out in the household chores and ferrying kids to school? I am thinking of irobot...since my baby attend childcare, seems that the floor is always with dust. Any robot to recommend? Wonder robot from china can be compatible for singapore hdb plugs? 220V.. -

My sil mentioned that she is using a mini device that will run around in the house, not irobot, and it costs only 50 to 60 dollars. It looks like a ball and will go round and roll the dust into itself. You just have to change papers after that.
Anyone has used this before? She mentioned that the supplier is in macpherson area.

Told my hubby if there is extra income, getting a maid is not a bad idea...at least someone to do the cleaning...but the stress of having to handle another person in the household will be more stressful...the problems they give...not like I don't have enough headaches.I guess everyone hopes to get good maid as that will be of good help.

Talk to them nicely, these maids climb on the head. Strict with them, they put soap powder, run away or murder you.
With one of my Indon maids, she had problems with her teeth. Sent her to see doctor but she refused surgery...understand their culture but her tooth gave her fever. -
Hi all,
Really happy to chance upon this thread. My maid of 3 years is leaving in a few days time and I have decided not to have a new one after many bad experiences the past 14 years of having maids!
Besides being inspired through this thread, I have also learnt many household 'toys' that I hv decided to get - irobot, dryer & thermal pot
However I am still contemplating on the following and would like to hear from any users its effectiveness :
1) standing steam iron - is it easy and good to use?
2) dishwashing machine - any good brand to recommend?
Thanks! -
me too, been wanting to get the steam iron but seen so many ended up at cash converters.
so for those who are using princess, novita and any other brands, pls let us know how is the result.
tks tks (=^o^=) -
I treat my maid as my godmother. I’m thirteen, for your information.
