Have to train the speed especially in Maths paper otherwise may run out of time with last few question unable to complete and also no time for checking.

the emphasis should be speed AND accuracy

          Yes, you're right.

start revising P3 & P4 stuff in P5, especially science, and to master the key words

                Herbie:

I am trying to get my P5 girl to start her 'engine'. I left her on her own last year to coach my P6 boy..

Ended up, now my girl very relax and when i ask her to do work she drag her feet and bargain with me. She used to be very on the ball.. now i have to nag and nag to get her to do her work..

                😒

I wanted to leave my son on his own this year while I focus on my younger child in P1...but it seems it's not possible. Teachers aren't teaching much yet bcos of the buddy thing and he's so relaxed everyday.
Started him on Cloze passage to get his brain working. Next week, teachers will gear up and move fast. He will be struggling to breathe if he continues to be so free.

P5 probably need more monitoring than P1. P5 is crucial for his PSLE next year.

Thanks Brenda,verykiasu2010,Trapwithin ! I heard so much about Maths need to train them on speed but it is difficult ! DS, if he tries to be fast, he will make careless mistakes :stupid: I really no-eye-see, just trying to do consistent work and see how CA1 goes.

                  Brenda, wah ! surprise test. Section C 18questions! P6 really :!:

For ds, by yesterday, already 3 pages Maths homework, 1 EL research (poems), MT δΉ ε—.
EL spelling list is out, spelling starts next week. 10 sentences to learn, FT will only read out first 1/2 of each sentence.
I think today 听写单 will be out.

Yes. The normal timing for the section is 1 hour 40 minutes but they were given only 1 hour to complete.

Is true. Last year we also spent a lot of time in Maths too .

The school already planned Supplements classes in their time-table. 3 days a week, he needs to stay back in the school till around 3:30pm. All the students whether they are strong or weak in the work need to attend! With all the homework and enrichments, I forsee he is going to be real busy 😞

oh my, 3 days per week is a lot ! How about at P4, any supplementary ?

We don't have supplementary classes schedule yet.

Any tips how to train speed in Maths ? It is paper 1 or paper 2 that is challenging for time management ?
