Happy Mama:
DD used to love his books when she was in Pri 1 and I bought for her almost the entire set.
Yup, if they are avid readers, they'll move on very quickly to other types of books and will continuously be appealed by new genres. I don't encourage dd to read only one category of fiction books. -
Jennifer:
Happy for you and kids.
Think if I walk daily from new place to sch/mkt, I will lose my spare tyre very soon :lol:janet_lee88:
Hey Jennifer,
We are curious to know how much nearer you are shifting to Pei Hwa.
Can walk to Bukit Timah market from new home ?
We are moving to Signature Park (the blk nearer to the Toh Tuck exit).
Told my boy we wld try walking to sch first.
This morning my elder boy told me he recd an sms from sch that on every Wed, he needs to reach sch by 7am. He is so glad that we are moving nearer to his sch too.

We leave at 645am and reach at about 710am. Still exploring the safer route to walk.
Janet, you take 25 mins to reach school? That's very long... Just curious, by foot, by bus or by car?

U walk to the back gate?
I thought of walking out from Toh Tuck Rd, cut across to the back gate. But no idea on how to cut across yet? -

I always feel that your command of English is excellent, hence your ability to guide your DD in the proper way for English too... Can share some tips with me?

Jennifer:
Good for you....No more terrible traffic jam along Upper Bukit Timah Road for you any more....your ds can settle down for his PSLE preparation....
We walk to school. Slow walk. I think we reach his school backgate at 7am and not 710am. 710am is the time he is IN the hall.
We walk across the badminton court. Have to be very careful as cars drive rather fast...try to walk in the void deck but due to lift upgrading, it's not possible to do so all the way. -

I have been sending DD by front gate this year, but thought I should know the timing of back gate, just in case...

Where is the badminton court? The lift grading makes some pesdestrian walkways inaccessible. Any idea when the lift grading along the blks near the back gate will be completed?
I found this onemap. Is the tail end of Lor Kismis linked to Toh Yi Rd? I shld try out walking the route first. -
Jennifer,
You can actually walk from Blk 12 Toh Yi all the way to school back gate.
Happy Mama,
Back gate opens at 645am and closes at 730am.
