There are 12 choices to put in - have to fill in all 12, ah? I mean, 3 or even 5 is tough enough, but 12?! If not, then put the rest blank?

Hey all
could I check with y'all something?
If my HCL (higher chinese) has been counted in my L1, would I still get my 2 bonus point from passing higher chinese? (not the cca points) 'coz I heard from someone that if my HCL was taken in for L1, I would not get the bonus points. Hope someone could kindly clarify this
Thanks in advance :D~
You are still eligible for the 2 bonus points. -
Crescent girls has the most top students with 9 A1s.
Looking at the names, maybe 8 out of 9 Chinese top scorers from Crescent Girls are from China......
Impressed with their determination and effort to do well for their English. Read today's report on how they started with writing 1 essay and do 1 compre passage daily in Sec 3 and then increased to 2 daily in Sec 4, just to do well in the subject. If my kids can just do 1 or 2 weekly, on their own accord, I will be very happy
Self motivation, determination and independent study, all crucial factors to do well. -

My Niece got 9 points for her L1R5 (after deduction of CCA). Which JC would be good for her? Her school have an affiliation to Anglo Chinese JC which gives her an additional 2 points off. Is ASJC a good choice?
From the above information, her nett score should be 9-2=7. She needs around 6 to get in. She needs to appeal.
ACJC is famed for its GP results and have been consistently among the top four performers. This jc also has a MOE based humanities programme and is better known for its arts courses.
She may opt for it and place Anderson jc as her 2nd choice. The latter is known for its science programme. -

Equally impressive, is one Chinese boy from Bukit Panjang Govt high, whose mother tongue is \"Higher Malay\" with 9 A1s.Extracted from CNA
forging ahead is top Malay student Nadiah Nadhirah, who scored a distinction in Chinese, despite taking up the subject only in Secondary One.
She said: \"What we had to do was memorise all these Chinese characters and there were times when I felt like I wanted to quit Chinese. But motivation from my parents, my friends and my teachers enabled me to go all the way up to the O-Levels.\"
this is a role-model for all that say Chinese is too tough, especially for the Chinese race. -

Congrats to your son!! Keep it up and all the best! :lol:Son just called to announce results which are much better than expected:
Eng - B3
E Maths - A2
A Maths - B3
Science - A2
Design & Tech - B3
Raw score of R1B4 at 13 (edited) and that qualifies him for a second choice course in poly (first choice needs a raw score of 11 and so he may not get it coz COP keeps going lower each year).
His prelim R1B4 was a 26...

Tks phankao. COP is all partial as many students hve similar nett scores. Ultimately, it depends on no of bonus points and order of preference. Moreover, we do not know the actual cop this year.
Normally, i advise parents/students to be on the safe side. Thanks!
