about NEX @ Serangoon

i saw the dog park recently. OMG, so disappointed!! i like to see and watch dogs play and also expect a nice grassy corner for these active animals.
but the floor is cemented??!!! what happen if those untrained dogs urinated or poo-poo? that will make the place looked real disgusting.
the whole place is so badly design. i seriously wonder if the designers read the wrong design guide book. not a single good and commendable design in this whole shopping area. -

Totally agree on that! In fact, I think was a mistake from the very beginning to even think of in-corporating a dog park in a shopping mall, that's the first mistake. :roll:i saw the dog park recently. Secondly, dogs and some kids DO NOT mix, not to mention that dogs and some races do not mix too, so why build a dog park right next to the kids' play area and have such low fence somemore?
My friends and I are predicting that it is a matter of time before they tear down the entire dog park area and extend the kids' play area, which I think is more logical even from a dog owner's point of view, since that dog park is so useless anyway!
And yes, totally agree that the whole structure was badly designed! Like you said, the designers must have consulted the wrong books when they built that building. Look at the corridors, the car parks etc ..... :stupid: -

I hate the rows and rows of lights near Watson, forgot which level is that.
Yes me too. Not sure if it is Watsons but it's near Chomel? It makes me feel as though I am coming down with a migraine attack. Really hate to walk pass it. -
Although the shopping centre is BIG, but the carpark is pathetic.

I think if my memory serves me right, there are actually two areas with such irritating lights on the ceiling! Very irritating, right?25hourmaid:

I wonder if the owners of NEX are reading this thread and if they are, wonder what their reactions would be? :? But whatever it is, it is too late for them to do anything now, especially where the layout and car park is concerned. -
Personally, I still like the food choices at Nexx. As there are so many to choose from, no need to queue. But I wonder if they will survive.
Car park sucks as we don't like the traffic flow and the turning out part is scary... high chance of scratching the car.
Shopping is the same everywhere, there is nothing special at Nexx. But Daiso would be nice
or those factory outlet shops that they have at IMM/ anchorage. That would be something different for a change.
On the other hand, saw the govt's plan to develop upper serangoon area. So another new mall beside Hougang mall. Hopefully this will be something different. Hear my requests pls. -
ya the car park is real sucks...I also like Nexx but when think of car park..I would change my destination..

not sure if u girls think the same way. but yesterday was my fourth time there and i still have difficulty finding my way out! heehee…
the escalators are also confusing. some lead to the next level, and some lead to exit? can’t they put the escalators logically at one side? the directory maps are also situated at awkward places…, and oh boy, some are touch screens! i saw some auntie having problems trying to use the system…
i agree that food wise, the variety is great. But they are all over the place!
the lifts are also hidden in quiet places which i think security wise, could be quite dangerous.
looks like i must go there a few more times to get familiar with the place. -

How come you and I think alike in so many areas where NEX is concerned? :lol:not sure if u girls think the same way. but yesterday was my fourth time there and i still have difficulty finding my way out! heehee...

For me, I cannot be bothered to familiarise myself with that place. I zoom straight to the NTUC and home as the NTUC is about the only reason why I need to be at NEX in the first place. Other than that, same thing when I need to get to Challenger and Popular, zoom there and out in a jiffy! Don't like to linger on too long there, corridors so cramp, place so noisy like a market place, lights giving migraine etc.
Agree with you about the lifts too! Most times have to go through long, narrow and quiet corridors before finding them.
