This is the process of child care and should not get too worried about it. My daughter was with childcare-non aircon except sleeping area when she was about to turn 2 and at that time, was always sick every month or less. Just make sure they drink lots of water, eat their fruits and veggies…

I brought her to Yu Guo children’s massage and it really helps her…Nowsaday even if she caught a cold, it was merely just running nose and with chlromine administered, it will get away in 2-3 days…I believe she had her immunity build up overtime…She is now 3 years …

        Hi Happy Avon,

Can share more about the massage? Where is it and how many times do you need to go to see effect?

          Aloysiusbb,

My son also kept falling sick when in Kinderland (aircon) when he was there for 2 yrs. He has narrow airways and snored when sleeping (seems like having difficulty in breathing). Every month's medical bills amount to $300 (ie 2 times to S'pore Baby & Child). GP medicine cannot cure. Finally withdrew last July and now in kindergarten. He is back to normal now.

People would tell you switch to non air con child care. But the problem would still exist. Doctors' advice is to quit child care.

All those vitamins, cod liver etc etc cannot defend against germs/viruses.

Of course, not everybody is like that. There are children who are very strong. Everybody's immune system is different.
ya doc also did say dun send to childcare.. but also say is gd to build their immune.. my son have senstive airway..

When my son has fever, he can still be running around and playing. Same for flu. The doctor said the medicine wont cure him, it only ‘cure the symptoms’ so I try not to feed him medicine unless he looked listless.

              .

My daughter was born at 32 weeks and was in NICU for 40 days before she can discharge for home. When she was a baby, her common flu can develop into bronchitis within a week and doctor diagnosed her with sensitve airway too. She was always on the neubilizer -ventolin to clear her airway otherwise she cannot drink her milk. We really had a hard time on her 1st year but someone recommended this popular child massage and we tried. The physician, a lady, also said she had sensitive airway and so put her on massage continuoulsy for 10 days… Subsequently it became few times a week until she got stronger. The lucky part is she had been doing this since young and now she enjoys it. She will lie on the bed and let the masseur massage her palm, back, stomach and forehead… When she reach home, she will have a good sleep…

Those interested, u can try. I also came to know that they even do accupunture for autistic children and I heard from those parents that it does improve the child’s condition… Don’t expect miracle…This is like TCM and it always take some time to see results.

Here is the address : Yu Guo Chinese Physician Accupunture & Physiotherapy. 8B Jalan Masjid, #01-04 Kingston Terrace Singapore 418929 Tel : 6444761.

                      It's part of the \"training\". 🙂

My kids went to non aircon childcare and still encountered this problem. My son was sick on-off for abt 4 months and then every quarterly. He suffered from mild asmathic cough for a few years and after I put him into swimming lessons to improve his fitness and \"toughen\" his muscles in his airway, he had since overcome the cough. My daughter who was tougher, was sick only for about 1 month but I put her into swimming lessons anyway.

In a nutshell, I would personally recommend the \"natural\" and long term approach of using exercising to solve such minor ailments. BTW, this was recommended to me by my son's paediatrician.

Just my 2 cts worth. 🙂
