Mrsbongz, your ds has the upperhand since your DH plays! He can train on weekends. Quick, markfch, send your ds over for extra lessons, so your boys won't blend...into the background.

She even went for the additional Saturday training at Clementi. But the training was good though, cos she is now able to play relatively well and even plays with DH at home every other day. DH was table tennis school player during his school days.... :oops:

Only 90 min ?[/quote]Hi E3, the memo didn't state the CCAs, but I remember reading in the handbook that Pri 3s will learn Table Tennis and Basketball, Pri 4s etc etc... cannot remember cos I only remembered for Pri 3.. haha... but will check DD's handbook when she comes back from school later...

Term 3, that is the term without any CA or SA.
Either Clementi or Bukit Batok swimming pool...all the P3 classes.
P3 kids will be split into 2 groups, first half to Bukit Batok, the other group to Clementi. 4 lessons straight during school hours.[/quote]Last year, its term 3 for swimming too. Last week. 3 days of the week. 2 hours (3 hours if you include transport and changing). Entire cohort went to Bt Batok Swimming complex. Frankly, I did not think crash course like this achieve anything. When mine was with BTPS, they did it in P2, 1 hr /week for 10 weeks. That was a better arrangement, IMO.

Oh ya, I brought mine home for 2 of the 3 days, straight from the swimming complex.

She also did table tennis as a modular cca in P3 either 1st or 2nd term too. If I did not remember wrongly, after SA2, we filled up a form to make choices (2/3 or 4) for some sports too. Cannot remember if its modular cca or sport week. She opted for soccer and netball (or something.. :? ).

There are few lessons conducted in the morn b4 the CCA. Only 90 min ?[/quote]Yes, as stated in the memo. Different timings for P3 classes and P4 classes. My dd told me it's like Hall CCA. They did wushu and Chinese Dance last year. The Gym lessons were conducted during curriculum time.

Haha...since we have the handbook, we should read it more. Looks like it's quite informative. I usually turn to the page for exam percentage weightages, that's about all. Hehe...

It's one of the learning outcomes for PE syllabus. All students, by P6, should be able to:-

1) Swim one recognised stroke.
2) Demonstrate confidence in water without buoyancy aids.
3) Understand pool and water safety

I remember reading in the news recently that a new curriculum will be introduced, the focus will be more on water survival and life-saving skills.
