Hi,
Does anyone know of any GOOD Before/After school care student centres near Pei Hwa? I know there is 1 centre next door that is sort of ‘designated’ for all PH students, is that good? Does anyone know if they have a website? Anyone sent their children there with experience to share?
I know there is a new studentcare centre called "Out of the Box" just started, located somewhere in Bt Timah. Looks good with enrichment classes built in but it is at the Coronation side of Bukit Timah, kind of far from PH …
My maid will be ending her 2 yrs service come June, so now contemplating to send kids to Student Care instead since both will be in the morning sessions next yr, which means with all the CCA + supp classes, they will most likely be out of the house from 7am - 5pm … so really no point to have maid … probably more maid issues then since the house is empty most of the time …
Thank you very much for advice! -
The one in toh yi is called trans family service student care. There's another nearby, which is v ex, called kidz club i think.. Can google n visit to c which is more suitable for u.

DS seems to have matured a bit after 2 weeks of primary sch life. The 3 interesting things that he told me recently ...
a) There was a boy who talked incessantly during assembly and was sent to stand in front of the stage. So official punishment has started oredi as forewarned by php. But ds said that boy didn't cry but put up a brave front.
b) DS is becoming more civic-minded. Last fri he saw a piece of litter in the school compound, picked it up and handed it to me (hey, I may be rotund but I ain't no rubbish bin ok  ). Likewise yesterday we were at a shopping complex, he saw some litter on the ground and asked me to pick it up. Now I know that under ds's Daddy 101 rulebook, dad's a rubbish bin too.
c) DS starts to write instructions more clearly in the handbook and will also verbally remind us on the individual items for good measure. Last thurs, he skipped the christian fellowship thingy during recess to practise jumping down staircases with his 2 ex-kindy friends. Looks like he is adapting well to sch life. -

Way to go! :celebrate:
I have been reflecting on my role after reading Amy Chua's article (the link you had posted). As the article was also featured in the Straits Times Review and Forum yesterday, my dh and dd got to read it. After my dh read it, he said I should be more motivated now. His dry sense of humour was not motivating at all. What made it worse was my dd said I am like a typical Chinese mother. :faint:
