GCE O level result release on 9 Jan

JonC:
bc cath high wants to show more As. ;D The additional A1 in CHS' form is from a separate sitting - the CL exam they took the year before. All schools like to do this lah. There is a little different from MOE website PDF and http://www.catholichigh.moe.edu.sg/images/stories/attachments/308_2010%20GCE%20O-Level%20Results%20Summary_sch%20website.pdf.
Why put 9A1 1A2 from Cath High is Top Chinese Students and not the 1 of the 3 from Cath High with 10A1?
If you read MOE's website, it does say that it shows the results of students \"at one sitting\". -
Oh, those who has HCL and took CL in Sec 3.
-
I was failed by him, the boy only got 7-2-2 for o lvls, would be a miracle for him to get into RJ/ HCI
-
If i took higher chinese as a private canidate, would 2 points be deducted?

It is not accurate and is a misrepresentation of the results! MOE should take into account all the subjects taken at O levels by each student when determining the top students. For example, someone who took normal mt in Sec 3 scored an A1 and later took 9 other subjects in Sec 4 including HMT and scored 8A1s and 1A2 for HMT is not featured even though in total he had 9A1s and 1A2 versus a student who only took 9 subjects in Sec 4 and had 9A1s (no hmt). -

MOE ranks students strictly on subjects taken at one sitting. Anyway, all top scorers ie 9A1s without HMT have to appeal for admittance to RI/HCI even though their cases are a sure shoot-in. -

Those without HMT have to appeal. -

Are you referring to 6 - 2 (cca) = 4, so still need to appeal for HCI/RI ? so this means is very important for the kid to take HMT inorder to try to get the 2 bonus points ? at least the points must be 6 - 2 (cca) - 2 (hmt) = 2, otherwise you still not able to get in to HCI/RI even if you are one of the top scorer ?phankao

But sure will get in, ah? There are other JCs that they can get in with 4points.
