Congratulations to your ds. A big ang pao before Chinese New Year.

thank you and congratulation to your kid too!..plan to save it for a new laptop for him at end of the year.. πŸ˜‰

Vlim,

Same thought here ( Great minds think alike  ). I told DS to save for a new laptop as he would need one for Sec. The amount is not enuf for laptop yet, so he must also work at getting another round of edusave scholarship this year πŸ˜“

Grandparents gave him an angpow as encouragement for good results. I supposed we will top up whatever amount finally....but well, let's make him work for it a little more
Hi pen88n and vlim,

Ya, agree the scholarship and the cheque will spur your children to work harder towards the goal of having a new laptop. 加油 πŸ˜„

buds:
Hi Tinkerbelle, i was rushing to get to the ceremony from the clinic with

my newborn. Thank goodness, i arrived in the nick of time! The guest of
honour congratulated us on both accounts, DD2's achievement (he told her
that he wants to see her again next year... :please: ... how sweet!) and
also on our 2wks old newborn addition to the family. πŸ˜‰ Yes, very
proud moment. It is also a good affirmation of all our efforts as a family
in support of one another when it comes to school stuff and studies. πŸ˜„
We received the cashier's order after photo-taking and also a goodie bag
for DD2... no reception kinda makan whatsoever. Hehee.. That was
purely my wishful thinking nia! Aniwaes, not much waiting time either.
Well organised. :celebrate:
Hi buds,

:congrats: to your DD2's academic achievements and :congrats: to your new bundle of joy.... εŒε–œδΈ΄ι—¨....No makan, never mind....got Kodak Moments....keke. Luckily not much waiting time, especially since you were with your 2 week-old BB.

Guess you must be super duper busy nowadays with a new baby.....have fun and all the best . πŸ˜‰
Hi Tinkerbelle,

Hope your dd is well now.

For top 5 percent, the cheque is 400 and 350 for top 10 percent.

Cheers
Lynn2

Hi Lynn,

Thanks so much for the info...DD has recovered and we just went to pick the certificate and cheque up from the RC 2 days ago and was trying to figure out whether she was top 5% or top 10%. :scratchhead:

Congratulations to your DD. :celebrate:

Hi, sorry I didn't follow this thread so may have missed the answer to my following question - can I know what are the qualifying criteria? What is the definition of Top 5%? Within the class or school? Are there any income ceiling? Must we sign up with CCs?

Thanks alot!
Yes. We encourage dd to continuous the effort and chiong for one more round in P6 as it may be very tough to get it in Secondary school with much more subjects than primary school.

Hi Brenda,
I agree....will definitely be much more difficult to get Edusave scholarship in sec sch. So I've also been encouraging DD to work hard this year. If she can maintain her results, maybe can even consider DSA. :xedfingers:

Hi Janice_0950,

Don't think there's a fixed range of marks your child needs to attain. Edusave Merit Bursary is awarded to the top 25% of each level in the sch with gross household income of $4000 and below per month. P1-P3 $200, P4-P6 $250. Pupils are nominated for the bursary by the sch.

Hi rockdiva,

Yes...the scholarship applies to all Singaporean pupils in all Singaporean schools.

I wonder for secondary school scholarship, will the top 10% include those foreign scholars who are already on scholarship studying in the same school? The computation of the top 10% if include them, though they are not eligible for it, will make less available for our locals.
