          Hi Mummies,

Please help... :?: Please help me to think of receipe that is very easy to prepare for my fussy P1 girl. Really give up on her she can tell me she don't like the food in school so she didnt eat anything during recess.

As she is in morning session n the school bus will reach at 6.20am. If i want to prepare food for her recess which means i have to wake up at 5.15am :!:

Just some ideas for recess I've used, my DS is in the afternoon session, so I prepare in the morning before sending him to student care:

              - grapes and biscuits
              - buns n pkt milk
              - cheese n sticks (the pre-packed type)
              - sandwiches (jam, cheese, peanut butter etc)
              - rice crackers and orange/cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices
              - muffins

these are stuff that you can buy and prepare in advance. If u need more substance, you can try fried rice, pasta, etc these u can prepare in advance and freeze, defrost in fridge overnight, and heat in the morning before putting into the lunchbox. But do observe food safety rules to prevent the child fr getting sick!!

Check the earlier pages, quite a lot of ideas

                hi Vez,

I don't cook so am racking my brains for food for DS1 (who's also very fussy). The stuff I made is not very healthy but at least he eats. For the last 2 days, I've made:

                1. luncheon meat & egg sandwich (fry scrambled egg, and luncheon meat separately) - this is ala Crystal Jade Bakery.
                2. spaghetti with cream sauce (added some luncheon meat and fish fingers).

Started cooking at about 6.15am, and finished about 6.45am (inclusive of clean up). I think I should be able to cut down if I cooked the noodles at night and then put in fridge - next day then cook with sauce (this from can).

Will be trying simple cheese and butter sandwich. My ultimate will be to cook rice for his morning - not sure if I can ever wake up so early. He hates japanese fish flakes, else that will be very easy - rice with fish flakes (sigh).

ha ha.. I remember when my ds was in P1 many years ago, there was this period when he was really into sardine. Thinking that sardine is a good food, at least for calcium, I suggested he brought rice with fried egg and sardine in a lunch box for recess.

He did it once, and that was the first and last time! When he came home from school, he told me; \"Mummy, i think i'm not going to bring food to school anymore. When I opened my lunch box during recess, everyone beside me pinched their noses and scram!\".

I think it must have been the strong sardine smell coming from the lunch box when he open the lid. I guessed he must have been embarassed by his classmates' reaction.

sardine is one of the fish which has the highest level of omega-3, one of the best brain food.
additionally, sardine is a small fish, it doesn't risk the chance of being contaminated with mercury or heavy metal.
for this reason, it better to stay away from eating those \"big fish\"

yes, not advisable to pack sardine in a lunchbox, becos of the strong smell of the omega-3 fats
and it also doesn't taste good when it is cold.
