aiyo... i didn't go into the details.....this one must ask E3.....
Your acronym SRT can mean two things, School Readiness Test or Star Reading Test.
Is the reading test called SRT? Or is it the other one with ratings (can't remember the exact name)?markfch:

Near end of T1 or beginning of T2, the kids will have to go through the reading test....using the test result as a guide, you can choose those books that are near to your ds's reading level....
I presume php is referring to the Star Reading Test which will be conducted twice a year. Once in Term 1 and another one in Term 4. These tests will gauge your kid's reading competency based on the United States standard. However, don't get too affected by the score cos it's just a guide.
As for the School Readiness Test, it is to detemine the basic level of literacy of the P1 kids. If they do not pass the test, they will have to attend the Learning Support Programme. Most kids will be fine. My dd told me her classroom's tables had been arranged for a P1 test so I assume it could be meant for this purpose. -

Mine brought back meal worms last week from her FT/Science tr.
They are studying the life cycle of it. http://www.squidoo.com/mealworms
Sorry, I made a mistake on the name, should be mealworms.
Did she have to buy it from the teacher? My son said they need to buy caterpillar from their teacher if want it. -
hi parents of P6
I'm new to this thread, and like to find out for those with kids in P6 this year, whether they have much Science hw since starting of the term ? In addition, what about CL and HCL from your observations ?
I know it varies from classes to classes, but like to have a gauge only. TIA.
Mum1113
They Got Some Breathing Space then ....
Teacher Say they MUST Work Hard To Beat the Charity Class Results ....
SO .... HW, HW, and More HW ....
SC HW .... So Far Only Saw Her take Out Once this Week ....
Maths HW .... About Alternate Days, But She Say She Finish in School, So I Don't See it ....
HCL HW .... Definitely Much Much MUCH MUCH LESS than in P5 ....
But were Ask to DO 2 Journals Over Last WeekEnd ....
Guess To Make Up for Not Giving them the Previous Week ....
With Supp Lessons Starting this Week, Let's See How it Goes ....

Thanks to Funx3 for sharing .
Agree to see HCL hw much much lesser than P5 last year. Kind of worried as CL / HCL is not very strong subject, but cant' control over what kind of speed teacher uses. So only uses tuition hw to give additional exposure to this subject.
Am thinking of Berries to help better prepare CL/HCL, any sharing or thoughts from any parent ? Or do u think to start now in P6 is a little late ? -

The mealworms are free. Her science tr gave them away. She just brought a container and her classmates gave her some oats and her teacher gave her 2 mealworms. The caterpillar needs to be purchased. -
