I like RV GPA ranking system, as it is proportionally decrease with decrease in raw marksjustsay:
How is the GPA in rv calculated? example 91-100 (gpa=4), 81-90 (gpa=3.5) ?
For each subject,
75 and above = A1 = 4.0
70-74 = A2 = 3.5
65-69 = B3 = 3.0
60-64 = B4 = 2.5
and so on.
Unlike DHS GPA ranking system, which decreases disporportionally.
Imagine getting raw marks of 69, instead of 70
the pupil's GPA can drop from 3.6 ( at least 70) to 2.8 (at least 60) as there are separate ranking be it B3 or B4.
and besides that, it not easy to get GPA = 4.0
becos that will required A+ ( which is 80 and above) not 75.
I agree DHS' grading system isn't very fair, in particular the 69 vs 70 marks. Imagine dropping from GPA 3.6 to 2.8! However, I like that A+ is 80 marks and not 75. If A+ is at 75 then it doesn't distinguish those who are very good at the subject from those who are good. -

:hi5: that's what i am trying to point out.

There is no problem introducing a different grading system because all students from the same school are subjected to the same system. However, one disadvantage will be that it becomes very difficult for the students to benchmark with the O or A level system.
But I think I know why it is structure in this manner. -

138 students getting the subsidies will be 138K per year. Do you happen to know how rv get this extra funding? I hope I am not asking too much.
it is only for year 1 to 5.WeiHan:
I presume only year 2 to year 6 will be eligible to get the $1000 subsidies for overeseas assignment? Or do year 6 go for overeseas assigment since they are suppose to be very busy preparing for A level. -
rosecy:
Yes. Infocomm 1st trial is thru a written test. 2nd trial thru interview.sall:
Finally, the trial for all the CCA is done. Is there a 2nd trial or audition? :?
some ccas may hold a 2nd trial for shortlisted students. heard infocomm club even have an interview for shortlisted students. -

Just like to point out the mistake made in the newspaper. Only students who scored GPA 3.8 and above will get subsidies and go for oversea trip during the exam period.
Students who scored above 3.5 and below 3.8 will get partial exemption for subjects that they scored A1.justsay:
