Happy Mama:
agreed, ph's p and tearchers are very nice... :celebrate:My aunt is an English teacher in one of the SAP schools in Singapore and gosh, you should have seen her looks! Even kids I know studying there complained about her arrogance.
One of my uncles is a P too, and he is rather boastful by nature
Oh yes, my cousin-in-law's wife, English HOD, also has THAT arrogant look.
But of course not all are such. I know of some very nice and humble Ps and MOE Superintendents who are just so wonderful people...
So in comparison, PH's P and teachers are indeed very nice

Good Luck!
I still prefer to let my dd attend mainstream/IP school, then take MEP in that school. That's what her piano teacher suggested too. That is, if she ever gets in lah. There are still three years to go but good to have an aim.
(Errrrr .... HappyMummy - Borrow Your Namesake for a Moment! Hope Not Infringing any CopyRight Here! Ha HA ....
)
As For SOTA, May B. Will Look at Her Schedule and See ....
No Harm Try for DSA, though .... Becoz SOTA Enrolment is PUREly By Audition, Cannot Apply thru Centralised Posting at yearend ....
And Of Course, Got to See Her Inclination ....
Her Senior (Last Year P6, Got in thru Ballet Audition, and Enjoying Herself Tremendously in SOTA Year 1 Now) is Campaigning HARD to Try to Get Her into SOTA ....

Do We Have A \"Ms Amy Chua\" in the Making Here in PH?
Don't stress Janet lah.Happy Mama:
Only 3 schools out of 10 or 15? That's too little.

She is already very hardworking. I don't compile Sci notes for my dd, or compile chinese phrases to form an essay... :udawoman:

Actually I find PH teachers friendly and efficient. They response to email pretty fast and some FT give frequent updates via email too.
I'm not sure if this is reflective of MOE teachers in general but I always feel that PH female teachers have a typical strait laced look. I had this impression when I was doing PV and even now as I picked ds up daily from sch the same impression continued.janet_lee88:
My son tells me he keeps quiet in class so that his teachers won't complain about him and praise him for being a 'model student'. But yaks non-stop the moment he reaches home. He can even tell me that his teachers find him a 'good boy'. OMG.
I wonder if this is because nowadays kids are harder to manage and only a non-nonsense appearance will help to control them? :? . Btw, this is just an observation, not a complaint hor ..... in case there're any teachers reading this post. -
