How did yr child do those papers, esp they hv not learnt those topics yet.Are all schools learning the same topics,as I am worried he's happily doing topics that will nt be tested in ph.
Not all schools will teach the same topics for P3/4 but this will only be the case from Semester 2 onwards. Diversity is usually the first topic taught for most schools. So far, for all the schools' papers that she had attempted, this was the case.

I started her early. She read Science magazines and books. I taught her P3 Science last year during the school breaks and made it a fun learning experience. I let her attempt the assessment books with my guidance, let her self-correct her mistakes by prompting her or rephrasing the questions, and clarify her doubts, if any. She has always been interested in Science. After a while, she got the hang of it what the questions are really asking for. Now, she does the papers by herself. Her concepts are clear but I'll still help her to polish her answering techniques at times.

Most schools usually start teaching Diversity first in P3 as it's an introduction to Science and the basic. Topics like Interaction and Energy are more difficult and tend to be taught in P4.

Just received a notice from sch regarding co-payment of Co-curricular programmes for P1. One of the clauses stated that for S'porean citizens, parents can leverage on the Edusave Pupil Fund to pay the amt of $131. I know that we've applied for an Edusave a/c for ds during orientation as advised by sch. But afaik, it is an empty a/c with no money.

I may been missing a piece of the zig-saw puzzle here but how does ds's Edusave a/c pay for anything when it has no money inside?

The notice added that parents can seek clarifications from FT if needed. But of course I'd rather get my clarification here at KSP PH forum, ten times more efficient  (dang dang dang dang). Oops just lost some points cos said the wrong thing.

Since 2009, the government contributes $200 for each Singapore Citizen pupil entering P1. If the child is fourth by birth order, he/she will not be entitled. This amount will be credited into their Edusave accounts yearly. It's accumulative. There is even a number to call to check on the balance : 6260 0777

I think your DS edusave account is not approved.

Thanks for the clear explanation again E3. Goes to show that I'm actually very blur when it comes to anything financial in nature. Anyway, glad I don't have to fork out any money this time round.

Wait till ds joins equestrian. I think one term of equestrian can already burst the whole budget for the next 6 yrs of edusave.
