Hi Mummies/Daddies,
Son came home with a form to authorise school to deduct for some supplementary/enrichment and modular CCA fundβ¦including a 3D2N camp. Can any mummy or daddy with P6 child advise where will the camp be ? Thanks. -
Hi Parents,
Is it true that priority is now given to those staying more than 2km away ? Also balloting is required even for those staying within 1km for 2C ? -
E3:
I am also just as blur .. or should I says still BLURR
No worries. I was also just as blur when dd was in P1. It was via this forum that I got to know about the phone number to inquire about the balance so now I \"pay it forward\" by sharing with you. hehe. As for the links, just a quick search on the web.markfch:
Thanks for the clear explanation again E3. Goes to show that I'm actually very blur when it comes to anything financial in nature. Anyway, glad I don't have to fork out any money this time round.

The only thing I know was when I want to tap the fund .. they says not enough ... :stupid: -

Thought the amount left over from Baby Bonus will be transferred to Edusave...strangely my daughter only has $200 in the account from MOE. -

Don't think so, it will still be within 1 km then within 2km then >2km.Hi Parents,

As for balloting, those staying with 1km > within 2km > more than 2km.
It also depends on the cohort.
In 2009, within 1 km - do not need to ballot and those between 1-2km need to. More than 2km .. no chance liao.
Last year, within 1 km ballot and 1km and beyond all no chance.
Last year was partly due to the fact that PH (or MOE?) cut down the no of classes from 12 to 11. -

So the proximity thing still remains...in line with MOE.

Last year (04 kids), balloting within 1km.
Wonder if this year (05 kids) will have another cut in class. -
I don't recall reading about any changes to the P1 registration process... any reason why the sudden question? Think it should still be the same, alot depends on cohort. Just like last year there was alot of sign ups for Phase 1.

Just sms-ed friend staying in next block last night...she told me her son has slim chance of getting into Pei Hwa this year...told me priority given to those staying more than 2km for Phase 2B. That's why I thought got some changes again. Last year was simply unexpected. -

Ask her to visit KSP more often for info

$200 in Edusave Account is correct. Your dd will not have any amount left from previous years because she just entered P1.
I called the number which E3 gave to check edusave account.

The Baby Bonus can be used to pay fees for all your children who are attending Approved Institutions registered with MCYS under the Baby Bonus Scheme mainly child care centres and kindergartens. I use it to pay for their medical expenses too. My eldest dd was not entitled to baby bonus then, so she used my dd2's baby bonus for kindy's fees and enrichment classes conducted by her kindy. My dd2 can use my dd3's Baby bonus in the same way. The unused balance will not be transferred to Edusave, instead it will be transferred to their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) when the child turns 7 years of age. It can be used to pay fees for post-secondary education in Singapore for the child and siblings.
This one I know cos I have three kids...
