Well, new leadership and new style is ok, but changes implemented without proper and timely communication to parents is frustrating... Or maybe THAT is the new style lol !

Eh, MommyNg, my DS in P3 still has assemby in courtyard on Mon :?

Really? My P3 dd told me she (and her classmates) stayed in classroom on Monday leh? :? She reached school at around 7.10 am last Monday, so I asked her if she went down for assembly after she put her schoolbag in her classroom, she said no, everybody in her class stayed in...

                  Assembly in courtyard on Mon.
d principal briefed just last week.
Couldn't hv change course so soon.
Maybe ur DD n classmates thot sama sama in class like other days of d week.

I reminded her on Monday to go down for assembly after she put her bag in the classroom leh, but maybe the rest of the students in her class saw nobody went down, so .. I also met a neighbour's boy in P4. He told me his class stayed in the classroom on Monday too!? Weird that there is no PA announcement to remind students to go to courtyard or basketball court for assembly?!

sorry, what do you guys mean by quarters?

You don’t seem very satisfied with the current principal? I’ve heard good things about her from my sister whose kids were in nanhua… but I suppose its quite different in nanyang?

A source told me the ex-P of NH is super ON. During the June holidays, the students have to go back to school for a full 2 weeks for additonal Maths Olympiad-like course conducted by service provider in order to enhance their competitive advantage at PSLE Maths. Don't know whether you think this is desirable or not. Personally, i think burning half the students' June holiday for this is not very good. There are other ways of exposing the students to higher order thinking Maths.

I know many other neighbourhood schools also provide extra enrichment class in Olympiad style Maths, but only to a select group of students whom the teachers think will benefit from the exposure. For those who are weak in Maths, exposing them to OM will be a definite morale deflator.
