25hourmaid,
I suspect yogurt may end up being another topic for some discussion.
May I suggest that you merge some of the posts from here to this:

Wow... I'm quite tempted to get it...
Ya, no need electricity. Basically, it's a 3 step processHappy Mama:
Thanks schweppes. Sorry I'm abit suaku... no need electricity can make yogurt already? How does the yogurt taste? As nice as those we buy outside? What is the consistency like? It's like the yogurt we buy outside right? Not the yogurt drink?
1. Fill the outer tub/container with boiling water (up to a certain level - instructions will be provided with the starter kit)
2. 1/2 fill the inner container with cold water, pour in the culture mix, shake to dissolve the culture. Fill the remaining 1/2 of the container with cold water and shake again.
3. Place the inner container to fit into the outer tub. Cover and leave aside for abt 10-12 hrs. Remove the inner container and put in fridge.
Abt 3-4 hrs later, viola your home made yoghurt is nice and ready.
As for consistency, it's like the Yoplait texture (not liquid). So far, I tried the strawberry and mango and family gives their thumbs up. Dh says taste better than store bought. But that cd be because it's also home made. Somehow, everything tastes nicer... better... when home made
Let's see if there are other factors to tempt me further...

A bit out off topic,
Yoghurt ice cream that we find in malls, not all made from fresh yoghurt
Some made them from ice cream powder with yoghurt flavor  -

That's quite a few tempting advantages, schweppes... but looks like I am more tempted to get the thermal pot... but just trying to withhold my urges as I don't want to end up a Kitchen Goddess.

The best yogurtβ¦ is breastmilk yogurtβ¦
My boy loves it and my hubs snitches it too!!!
Too bad I donβt have milk now, so we use Meiji fresh milk instead. Tastes very nice!
BTW, those ready starters contain a lot of artificial flavourings & sweeteners. Iβm alright if itβs purely for adult consumption but definitely no no for kids.
If you want to give your kids yogurt, plain with loads of fresh fruits/fruit juices will be much better.
Iβm using an electric yogurt maker. Tried the Easiyo one that Phoon Huat carries but donβt like it because we canβt control the texture of the yogurt. It only works well when you use their starters which I find expensive. -
I am using an electric yogurt making machine, think the brand is Severin. I use a yogurt enzyme from Taiwan (which my friend will bring over each year). Easy, no mess, and most of all, healthy.

Hi,
I have gotten a craving for Pink Berry yogurt after a trip to the States. I love yoghurt. Used to get Yami Yoghurt very often but now I donβt find my outlets. Anyone knows of good yoghurt places? -
I see Yami Yoghurt in quite a few places - Ion, Plaza Singapura, 313β¦
There are also a few other yoghurt stalls now. Most food sections of malls have one or two.
