Actually it depends a lot on parents. Enrichment Centres can do a lot, but if parents do not go through the material with them, the outsome will not be as good.
Rite. Enrichment ctrs are no silver bullets. They facilitate, but there are many other variables at play. I know that some of our PH top students have minimal or even nil enrichment and yet they performed so well. One of the mummies here has been keeping very quiet all these while when we're talking about enrichment. :peekaboo:

To me, it's a fallacy to say think that if I send my kid to XX branded ctr, he'll automatically score an A*.

Oh. Aren't they afraid that burning the candles at both ends leads to burnt outs?

A friend who has 3 kids in that school (she has 4 children) told me her neighbour has a son burnt out at P6.
luckily my kids r not there. I'm already lamentg abt d supp classes as it's takin up 2 afternoons of my dd's precious time. She is left with v little time to RnR. Wld hv preferred more time at home with her.

2 afternoons are taken up to teach what cannot be completed during school hours. Maths today (even week). He will be taking his beauty sleep after his bath and quick snack. Nights spent for homework.

agreed. the parents is more important. and the parents who keep quiet for this topic, it is obviously that they can handle & involve their kids study totally by themselves. 😉 😉

The Alternative Story. They have a branch at BTSC.

In my opinion, their biggest strength is in creative writing.

K tks! Any idea if the Mindstretcher in the Bt Batok branch is good or not?

ya, now that the seat is not easy to get, it is better to keep my dd in TLL first. i will sign up to join the mindstrecher for my dd in the next few weeks, and will take a decision to choose between.
lizhi, since you are staying in Bukit Timah, may be you should wait for the new one at Clementi Mall, should be nearer for you, right? Opening in April...

Oh, SVPS standard is pretty high. Current P has taken it to greater heights since she came on board. She was ex-Radin Mas' P! 😉

If i can do it myself and my dd is confident enough to level up to the expectation i set for her , why should i send her for enrichment classes? if we parents can't do it ourselves, then the only right thing to do is to out-source. Do we have any other choices? Unless we are really bo-chap....

probably this was the reason why the school was not producing top PSLE scholars lately....

Expectation is Inversely Proportional to RnR?
