Mine said last week, driver hitted curbs more than thrice and then this tuesday again. Mine is very particular about safe driving. Whenever the car goes alittle fast, she will complain that she is on a roller coaster. :roll: Or when I am alittle blur about where to go, she will comment that I should check before we start the journey. :roll: She buckles and ensures everyone in the family does.

she is a very good girl. my ds is probably half asleep in the morning bus. :lol:

I think there's something else you parents should take note of. Every evening I see these things when I pick ds from sch. For those full-size sch bus, most seats are facing the front. However there are usually 3 seats right at the front that is facing the driver. In other words, these 3 seats are perpendicular to the rest of the seats.

Almost daily I will see boys seating at these front seats, unbuckled. If there's a collision, these boys will most likely fly out the windscreen. Just wondering for safety reason, why don't they forbid usage of the front seats when there're vacancies at the back?

Not true. Nothing is confirmed yet. Why do you want to chase me out? Just kidding... She'll most likely still go for the 1st screening test and God-willing, go for the second. Decision comes after that. If I am the P, I will not train my students too intensively from P1 - P3, specifically for GEP. Instead, train them AFTER P3, like offering the Thinkers Today, Leaders Tomorrow programme, so that on one hand, you develop many excellent students for PSLE, on the other hand, you keep the brains. One year makes a big difference in terms of maturity. My thinking is a little warped, I know, that's why I will probably make a lousy P. Just my humble opinions.

Hello everyone, I am back and wow! the page is now 6xx plus really many active moms & dads here.To add on to what E3 has just shared. Personally I feel that P did not really 'train' PHPPS for GEP. If she did, I believed more students would be selected. I found out that NYPS starts so called 'GEP' training in P3. Some selected P3 students are put into 'GEP' prog & the class size is keep small about 25 unlike PHPPS expand to 40+ for top classes., so you see, they can achieve to have 50 selected gep stds. For math, you have to expose your kid to different types of Math like IQ, OLP math, ICAS papers topics besides the mainstream topics before she sit for the GEP screening test else your kid will be at a disadvantage and might be demoralised. Anyway, a happy chinese new year to everyone and I am surely glad that I don't have to send my DD to school for those few days. (the horrible traffic jam every morning to NYPS is really a very stressful one! up to till now, still trying out different route)

I agree. Coming from another primary school, which trained children early at the beginning of P2, PH is definitely not into training their lower primary kids to get into GEP. For parents who hope to get their children in, yes, expose your children with varieties of maths (and logic patterns), as comfy mentioned. Besides knowing the methods to solve them, speed is also another factor. Maths papers are timed for the selection test.

As for my girl's case, thankfully she was not demoralised because her mommy did nothing so expect nothing from her. I prep-talked her that as long as she does her best, then the rest leave it to God. It is true that some of her classmates felt sad when they could not finish the papers.

What does ICAS stand for? I googled and came up with Immigration & Customs Authority of Singapore. :scratchhead:

Though we can prepare our kids for GEP. Some kids are just so gifted that they got selected w/o any prior preparation. Rite comfy, keke :evil:
