Hi,
SEAB has the list of the different subjects here: http://www.seab.gov.sg/psle/2011subjectInfo.html
They have detailed the exam format clearly.
Hope this helps. -
I've uploaded a list of 207 commonly misspelled words for parents to work on with your children.
It's available here: http://www.mwtuition.com.sg (under 'Resources', scroll all the way down) -

Hi Brenda,
Hi Janetjanet_lee88:
Hi Brenda,
P5 open-ended comprehension passages is an eye-opening experience for my son...passages are longer and there are 10 questions. Filling in the blanks with suitable words also tricky...have to try to master these areas...35 out of 95 marks is quite a chunk.
What about editing, synthesis & transformation pls ?
These two section editing and synthesis & transformation are 10 marks each.
Thank you
I've been doing few more practices with 'fill in the blanks' (comprehension cloze) bcos he's quite weak in that area.
Have made indications for the types of comprehension cloze for eg, 'food', 'animals', 'health' etc. -

That's a good start. It's seems that the children need to identify and trace with some clues in order to apply the appropriate words base on the event. I think reading plus more exposes to different scene should be able to help.
Just my 2 cents thought -

Went to Tao Nan yesterday but the book shop keeper said the publisher came and sell at the canteen@peterch, re: \"Noteworthy Math\"
Ask him to check at the school bookshop, they should know. Ds's school is not using but I think Tao Nan is using.
and anyone knew who is the publisher? Thanks

Hi Brenda,
A friend of mine advised me to file comprehension passages according to the diff themes…we never know what passage the school will give. So if the kids are exposed to ‘science fiction like Mars’ for example or ‘health’, they won’t be at a loss. I did that last year. Last year, I gave him one passage or else let him choose one passage. -

Hi Janet
I think this is also a good idea and will help to prepare your ds better when attempt to this section. -
@mrswongtuition,
Thanks for sharing.
The header shows : [home] [about us] [gallery..] [home-based...][main centre]. I look through each page and scroledl down each of the page but can't find any [resource] link anywhere.
btw, nice photo of you there !
@peterch, probably you can get better response if you ask at the Tao Nan networking thread. your ds's own school bookshop don't know ? -

I think it's due to the 'compatibility view' in IE. Try Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.@mrswongtuition,
