Agree with you, Brenda. It is madness in its extreme form

This is a sure recipe for disaster :!: I don't think this can last for more than a couple of days. surely there will be very poor attendance in school.

What is impt quality or quantity?
Definitely quality!! With quantity, some kids go into 'information overload' mode with that much work and absorbs nothing much from all their efforts.

My kids are damn blessed!. At primary 6 level, after 10.15pm, strictly no home work. Must be in bed by 10.45.pm. It's a family's practice.

        Hi innovate,

Your kids are indeed blessed!! šŸ˜„

Many thanks. Blessed are your kids too!.

          Hi everyone,

This might not be the right thread to ask but I've asked in another thread and no one seems to know much about it..
Does anyone here know about \"The Little Professor\" science workshop organised by ACJC for P5/P6 students? Are any of your P6 kids attending? Do you know what they do at these workshops? Heard DD mentioned there are awards given out...so I guess it must be a competition of some sort? Please kindly enlighten me. Thanks. šŸ˜„

Sorry Tinkerbelle, Im not of much help. I've never heard of this workshop. Looks like DS would have enjoyed if he had the chance. Did your DD register for this thru her school? You might try posting this query in the Sec School paernts network - ACSI. Hope you get some response.

There was a Sc workshop at ACJC last yr. My girl attended, got to pay $25,it's open to quite a lot of pri sch. During the workshop, the seniors guide them,or demonstrate some Sc expt etc.Should be about the same this yr. Last yr, one of the activities was to go on nature trail at botanic garden, but due to heavy rain, it was cancelled. It's not really a competition, just some fun activities, the prizes are just a token to round up the activities.

I guess the teacher is in New Year Mood and dd back home without homework. Only need to perform weekly activity - add in 10 new vocabularies to the voca list.

                  Hi Tisha,
4 teams of 4 students will represent the sch for this science workshop. Registration is done by the sch. Dunno much info yet. Will let you know the details when I know...just in case your DS is interested.
oh ya, didn't think to post this query in the AC sec thread. Thanks.

                    Hi sall,

Thanks so much for sharing. Sounds like fun. Is your DD's workshop conducted in 4 sessions over 4 weeks? DD told me hers is and each session is 2hr15 mins.

                      Hi Brenda,

So kind of the teacher to give your DD a break over the weekend just before CNY. Maybe she knows parents will be out shopping for last minute goodies... šŸ˜‰
