Something seems wrong with this question.

        Before ratio
        Marble : Mosaic
        4:5
        = 12:15

        After ratio
        6:4
        = 12:8

The number of mosaic in fact decrease if the marbles are the same.

Apology, whether question should be :

…40% of the new total were marbles…
          [/b]

                  Hi all,

I was running through my child's paper and I am actually stuck in 2 questions. Do you guys have any advice? Which method should I use, I thought of using LCM, but apparently I dont think it works on these questions

regrouping means the addition of 2 digits must be more than 10
all the ones in the 4 choices allowing regrouping
now, for option 1, the hundreds digit ie 7 and 1 when adding 6732 and 3178, doesnt allow for regrouping as 7+1+the ten carried forward when adding the tens in the two numbers, is only 9.

if u work thru, the answer shd be no. 3 i think (ie regrouping only ones and hundreds), as for no. 4 must regroup the tens as well as ones and hundreds
