yah..tat's my concern too..my MIL ask me to enrol my DS to MFS just becos its walking distance from my place but i wanna chk how's the enviroment n what they are being taught in school.

i walked pass before and notice nothing is being taught..young children were just playing with one another n playing catching..dunno did i catch them at break time or wat?

mainly, i am concerned for my 2yr DS as he is still not keen in talking yet. the only word and favourite word is \"ball\"..others he will just responds as \"orr..orr..oor\"
is this normal? getting abit stressed up as i see kids younger than him talking non-stop..

i knw i should get him involved in playgroup soon to interact so as to build up social skills..but kids at his age (when i noticed) like to play with himself, not keen in sharing.. wonder if this is normal?

some feedback will be very much appreciated. thks!
Not to worry. My DS2 only started talking after he is more than 2.5 years old. Now he is talking non-stop (3 years old). Yes, kids at that age tends to play by themselves. That being said, it is always a good idea to place them in playgroup so that you will not have problem placing them in childcare in future.

HI, understand that MFS is opening a 2nd brand at Yew Tee Blk 603 there. Anyone sends their kids there?

I went down last yr cos I thot I will send my son to cc but not sure if anything have changed. But one thing is the principal is always not around & running personal errands. And their licence was on 6mths before the recent 24mths licence, asked the principal, she told me it was due to some admin stuffs…?

Do you all think this branch prepare the kids well for Pri 1? Any enrichment that they have for the kids? How is the teachers there?

                  Hi!,

My DD is currently with 329; used to be @ Punggol South, nearer to inlaws. I realised that AMK2's teachers more strict than PS and more matured...

my girl is in My First Skool compassvale Sengkang, they do have outdoor activities daily (except rainy days). timing is abt 10am to 11am… they will go to the playgorund, or some activities at the open area like singing or games in circle. after that they will go back, wash hands, lunch and bathing then nap.

Ya I noticed MFS dun teach toddlers anything. Just go playground, come back, have lunch, play with toys etc. my daughter was in MFS just before 2. I didn't mind her not learning anything cuz my intention was to have her interact with other kids. At this age, some kids observe things by watching and listening instead of displaying what they know. Actually, my DD very similar to your DS. Only say ball and ngrrr ngrrrr. Last month I withdrew her from MFS due to her health condition. But this month, she suddenly started saying all the letters. We didn't even teach her. We suspect she has already learnt so much from Sesame Street DVD all these while and kept inside her head.

As for putting your DS in playgroup, I find playgroup dun really help in letting your kids interact with other kids, cuz usually parents will accompany and with parents around, kids usually just focus on own parents and not their peers. My DD also in a playgroup. I hardly see her interact with other kids. But I still let her remain in playgroup nonetheless, cuz I can learn from the teachers how to teach alphabets and words in a more lively and interesting way.

I find childcare will be a better environment for interaction. My DD was anti-social in her younger days. That's why I put her in MFS. Very soon, she has her own best friend already.

I guess for your son's case, you just have to be patient. Every kid's development is different. Your son talks later does not mean other kids are smarter. He probably keeps a lot of knowledge in his head and one day he will surprise you when he decides to open up. 😉

btw, my paedatrician also told me that it's ok for a kid not to talk before 3.
