Although we did not go for any hoildays, I will still let my kids (P3 & K2)

to stay at home for another weeks just for precautions. I may be Kiasu but I do not want to risk their health.

I'm a SAHP and currently get the comfort to work from home.

So, no issues.. If the H1N1 situation gets worse, they can jolly
well stay home with me and do stuff too! We have already
started reading through the Term 4 work aniwaes..

Guess, that's one of the advantages of a SAHP.

Either ways, when i was working full-time, me
and hubs never had problems taking leave or
time off to be with our kids due to any gahmen
closures or when they are sick. Our bosses have
been good ones thus far... that's also a blessing.

On top of that we have grandparents from both sides
who are rather supportive, and that is another plus
factor. Any alternative caregiving, the grandparents
are more than willing to take over... after they have
knocked off work themselves.

My dd P6 so no choice…must go school to catch up syllabus…I think for younger kids, it is up to your comfort level. You can afford to let them stay home and see how the situation goes…No need to worry about academics at this age…

Reasons:

1) Have to be realistic. H1N1 is only ONE virus; there will be MANY more to come.

2) H1N1 is infectious but not dangerous. It is not the bubonic plague. If we are going to live the rest of our lives in fear of every little virus, we may as well lock ourselves at home for the rest of our lives. It’s worse than the dark ages. More people die every day from smoking/cancer/road & home accidents.

3) Worst case scenario, if really kenah H1N1, then go home recuperate and allow the experience to boost our immunity. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.

I agree with the minister - if you are not affected or in danger, live life normally.

My only real concern is that, regardless of this incident, forgetful Singaporeans are unlikely to improve their sense of social responsibility nor hygiene. (Which is why I feel safer in Japan).

I am still considering coz my son is only 2+. If I can decrease the chances of him getting H1N1, why not? I am only afraid of those parents who insist on sending their child to school despite coming back from those affected areas. What if the parents are not truthful enough?

Will send. Schools are already taking precautions (barring those who come back from hols in affected countries for 7 days), taking temp etc. So feel should be quite safe.

:!: There is no syllabus on Stellar programme, so what curriculum did you work on for English? Is it time to start your 'assessment books recommendations' and 'study/teaching techniques' etc or SA2 preparations?
With the 'compressed teaching weeks' if schools did shut down, teachers will likely be teaching up until the last day before exams!
Wait...i am getting my priorities wrong here...i should be worrying about H1N1 instead of SA2. :wrongmove:

My girl's school still using old school textbook method.

Which i am fine with... I like that kids are able to practise
writing what they read... More so for textbook as to i suppose
for the STELLAR programme. SA2 tips, aaah? You want? You want?
