How about starting a herb garden with your child? Thought it would be nice to share with the parents here and give you some ideas on how to cultivate your child's interest in plants and nature.
My girls are very excited that the sunflower is blooming in time for VDay. Said that it's their and daddy's VDay present for mommy.... awww....
Hope this will inspire some of u to start a mini herb garden with your kids too :celebrate:

Happy Mama:
hm.... thinking aloud, if we grow rosemary and oregano, we can use them to make foccacia bread with the breadmachine
Thanks for the tips, Schweppes. I have succumbed to the temptation and am going to CS now, to get the sunflower seeds. :boogie:

Cold Storage King Albert Park ran out of sunflower seeds! I bought a few types of flower seeds including French Marigold, Sea Lavender, Gazania and Indian Blanket... but NOT SUNFLOWERS!!!
Some lurkers must have been here earlier than me and bought all of them! -

Great sharing, Schweppes.
Getting motivated, but...
But I have a \"non- green thumb\"
As a child, the plants i planted hardly survived, while those thta my bro planted thrived. My grandma said it is becaus of my heaty body, whne i touch the plants it weakened them.
So should i venture or not ? :stupid: -
adoi...schweppes jie..after reading this thread..I'm also motivated to try again on planting pandan leaves, chilli, lime...etc
但是,我每种一盆,死一盆...
对那些无辜的盆栽很过意不去...
Any advise to improve my gardening skills? -

Another club in the making?
So far only succeeded in growing pandan & lemon grass. A LOT of pandan & lemon grass. Used to have chilli padi but keep getting a lot of white flies on them. Tried planting papaya as well but everytime it grows to a certain size the monkeys will come and pick all the leaves off!
Never knew that sunflower will thrive in our climate. I am waiting to redo my garden. This time I will have a herb plot. Maybe will try planting some sunflowers.
