Hi, can parents with kids in Integrity 10 help to send me a copy of the class's timetable? Ds misplaced his in school.

I am only aware that ds has English spelling every Friday. How about Chinese spelling? Is there a list given?

      Please help...TIA!
Can't help on the timetable but for Int 8, ds told me that CL spelling is on an adhoc basis.

CL teacher will inform in advance if there is one. For Int 8, there is no pre-defined CL spelling list like in eng. Should be the same for Int 10 rite?

Now that you're SAHM, I'm sure you'll be one of the P3 experts in time to come

Now that I'm a SAHM, I should be more involved in her work and know what she's doing daily, especially since I've even started filing all the letters from school when I used to read and throw them in the past...

BUT definitely not one of the experts la... πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Pei Hwa gives students a good grounding and exposes the kids to pressure from lower primary...as such I believe in building a good foundation from P1...am applying the same principle to my daughter who is not in Pei Hwa...it's a learning experience everyday for my kids as well as myself.

Daughter attends RC classes for Eng & Math and has Chinese tuition since K2. Son has CL tuition.

I wonder which sec schs do most phpps students go to ? Any idea ?

No idea. There are kids who make it to Nanyang, RI, Catholic High...but not all do of course.[/quote]Am in School During the Award Presentation to PSLE Batch Of PH Top Scholars 2010 on CNY Eve ....

Not sure about the majority of the PSLE leavers though ..
Is there any way to find out what is the average aggregate score of PHPPS PSLE students ?

Also, need some advice from parents here - do you spend time revising work with your child on a daily basis ? I realised that my gal doesn't have much homework, and most of the worksheets are done in school and its hard for me to gauge her progress or know what is taught in school other than asking her and testing her using assessment books. I read from the website that the SA1 is approachign soon, how do I find out what are the areas to be tested ?

                but is affiliation that important?

Pei Hwa is a good school...it is competitive and results have proven that most kids can perform. But my son is no striker (not scoring goals)...working very hard to maintain average results every year. I do worry about his PSLE results...the cut off points (COP) and Dragon year competition. Thus with my younger child, we have decided to register her in my former school with affiliation.
Just read from the forum last night...a parent mentioned that with effect from 2016, the cut off points will be increased for affiliated primary school from the present 200 points.

the cut off points for the various feeder schools are different

SCGS : going to raise a few points every year, last time used to be 200

                MGS : ??

                FMSS : ??

SMSS : ?? as long as qualify for the respective stream.......??? not sure lah

NYGH : as long as hit 250 or higher

If I'm not mistaken, mean score for PH PSLE results 2010 was 228 which is very respectable. You mean there's not much hw for P2? Yesss!

Went for my medical checkup last fri at jurong east and came across this enirchment/tuition ctr called Newton Apple. Surprising their PSLE results posted outside their ctr is really good, think I saw > 80% getting at least A for each of the 3 subjects (but pls verify this yourself as I may have got too excited by what I saw).

I mean the surprising thing is not that their results are so good. The surprising thing is that how come I never hear of them until recently when they're so good.

Too bad ds is already settled in all his enrichments so I don't want to rock the boat unnec. If anyone is interested to try, pls update us here whether they're as good as they claim. The std caveat pple must say when recommending ctrs is that \"I'm not in any way related to this ctr, just thought I should be sharing what looks like a good deal.\" There it goes.

See Happy Mama, you pressurized me. So now I must yak less but contribute more serious posts. πŸ˜“
