each year Pri 1 registration under phase 2B, a certain percentage or certain number of seats is being set aside, to those who apply under rc category.

I would say chances are good to be able to get in. But with a large majority of the years, there is balloting required. I don't have the figures with me right now but if you were to head down to the school's website, there should be some history about the balloting. As I recalling, Phase 2C within 1km ... balloting is required but the numbers are rather close i.e. 55 applicants for 50 places - that kind of stats. -

I was put through the balloting process during registration, so I understand the anxiety. In the end, I'm just thankful that we got in.

For last year, the school balloting was scary almost or less 50% chances for phase 2C.
The principal did mention that is getting harder each year to get into Nanyang Primary. Better mentally prepare if you want to try Nanyang Primary for phase 2B and phase 2C. -

YR2003 - 46/46 = 100% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2004 - 55/57 = 97% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2005 - 48/58 = 82% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2006 - 25/45 = 56% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2007 - 63/63 = 100% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2008 - 55/61 = 90% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2009 - 47/54 = 87% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
YR2010 - 36/68 = 53% chance of success at P2C within 1KM
Observation - Number of available spaces for P2C within 1KM has been dropping since YR2007 … 63, 55, 47, 36

Don’t forget, there are few HDB Blocks are within 1km to Nanyang Primary.
And… plus Leedon new condo on hot sales… another 1000 units will fight for a place there. -

Better now then when D'leedon is up. The place brings another 1700+ units within the distance.
err, it has actually increased from 20+, 30+ last time....we actually counted how many landed houses are within 1 km to gauge on potentially how many kids are within 1 km ..... lolthankgod:
