Dun worry.
Sorry, Jennifer, I only see your msg now. I was out the entire day and she did it herself. Now she is out, I will ask her later. Perhaps, other parents in Twk 8/9 can advise too?Jennifer:
For last Monday assignment, is your girl able to provide some info on what the pupils are supposed to do? Many thanks.
I grilled some info out of his little brain last night (had not been paying 100% attention :x during the art lesson). Then we proceeded to do sth, maybe wrong, but at least can hand in sth.
Draw squares (sth like squares) on the art block.
Trace out the shapes on the art block.
Create some pics on the shapes - like draw ears, eyes, whatever.
Draw some wavy lines on some of the shapes.
Next lesson will be application of colours. -

My son also not very sure about it. He said not necessarily need to be done. So he just totally ignore it. don't know correct or not?Jennifer:
Yes, same class.
paiseh, need to ask you abt this Monday art assignment. My boy brou back some irregular shapes (artblock paper material). Are the children supposed to trace the outline and then do free expression drawing? Any theme?
IJJ, What did your dd said since they have the same teacher.
S6169, think you shld get your boy to do sth. -

Yeah, the Sample Answer is Really Very Specific .... Errrr .... From Mr Woon, No Less!Hi Parents,
After listening to what hubby told me about the P5/6 briefing, I'm beginning to sweat even more. The answers required for PSLE Science is so specific. In fact, I feel that this PSLE expectation should be starting at P4...sounds cruel but the earlier the kids get used to PSLE expectation, the better it is for them.
I was teasing My Gal if the InComplete Sample Answer is From Her ....
Her Answer, \"Can't Remember what I Wrote -la!\"
Ha Ha ....

I fully understand and agreed! Mine is the same! Tat's why God made parents (only for a season) ...to guide our little ones so that they can stand on their own feet one day! If they can do everything in \"auto\" mode then we become obsolete liao? :?
Thanks rcxmum. Next time will do that.rcxmum:
Hi .. Think as different class have different CL teacher .. My ds in Int 5 hv no CL spelling until they start chapter 1! Tink the best person to clarify is emailing the teacher herself
Actually in a way I don't feel good that I've to verify this for ds, either here or thru teacher. I'm trying to teach ds that paying attention in sch it's his responsibility, not mine. This 'project' of mine is obviously still WIP. -

Hi, I didn't buy many Science assessment books for my dd. Just a few Science guides (EPH & Marshall Cavendish) and past years papers. During the PSLE talk on Sat, HOD Science advised to keep all Science text books from P3 onwards. Sorry for not being of much help.Hi Mummies of P6s,
Can you pls advise what titles of Science assessment books you bought for your children ? I would appreciate if you can let me know as there are simply far too many titles and it's tiring to comb through every book.
Thanks in advance. -
Jennifer:
I think PSLE should be ok. Very pressurised last year. This year more relaxed, less homework compared to last year. So unlike other schools which has supplementary lessons daily, PHPPS only twice a week.ChiefKiasu:
Elder boy is in P6 (CH), the younger one in P2(HU).
P6? How's the PSLE preparations going? It's coming soon :scared: I can imagine how stressed we can get during this period! Do you think PHPS has effectively prepared your boy for this upcoming milestone?
#1 has been quite consistent in his performance since P1, so not very worried till I came to this forum and learnt of other avenues like the maths olympiad training classes. Though PHPPS has engaged a 3rd party (Hot House) to conduct Maths Olympiad Course, I think it is insufficient. If only I knew DSA favours Platinium/Gold holders, I would hv spent the money to get more training for the boy. But no point crying over spill milk now.
Hi Jennifer
Can I ask you, did your elder boy had any supplementary class in Jun hols when he was in P6, I am thinking of signing up some camps for my DS but I am thinking they should have supplementary class in Jun. Do you remember which week or days did your DS have his supplementary class.
TIA for your feedback
Regards

I got quite a bit of Science assessment books to revise for CA/SA.
Like for eg the P5 CA1, other than 2 topics under Cycles, P3-4 topics will also be tested. So I got him to do 'Living/non-living things' as well as 'magnets'. Shocked that I can use up Science assessment books :!:
As I have a younger child in P1, I've kept up all my son's books. -

Hi Janet, i couldnt catch up with dis forum nowadays. I just reached dis page n yr post today.Hi Periwinkle,
Are you or hubby attending the P5 briefing today ?
Hubby is attending as kids have CL tuition. He just attending P1 briefing last night.
How do you find Maths ? It's really in-depth
The Maths CA is split into 2 'sessions' - first part without calculator, followed by another paper with calculator.
Both my hubby n I cld not attend as wevhv something on. Can u share with me the content? Tks a zillion.
Math? V difficult. I'm going to ask her to so 1 ca paper to try. Like wat I mentioned earlier, she has very little time for home revision! She only has
1 tuition a week but yet with d supp class in school n cca n
her homework, I hv very little time for revision with her! She has only attempted 1 CN paper, 1 Eng paper n 1 science paper. I m
praying that she will not do v badly but am prepared for lower band 2!
