Hi Parents,

After listening to what hubby told me about the P5/6 briefing, I'm beginning to sweat even more. The answers required for PSLE Science is so specific. In fact, I feel that this PSLE expectation should be starting at P4...sounds cruel but the earlier the kids get used to PSLE expectation, the better it is for them.
Yeah, the Sample Answer is Really Very Specific .... Errrr .... From Mr Woon, No Less!

I was teasing My Gal if the InComplete Sample Answer is From Her ....
Her Answer, \"Can't Remember what I Wrote -la!\"
Ha Ha ....

Hi .. Think as different class have different CL teacher .. My ds in Int 5 hv no CL spelling until they start chapter 1! Tink the best person to clarify is emailing the teacher herself πŸ™‚

Thanks rcxmum. Next time will do that.

Actually in a way I don't feel good that I've to verify this for ds, either here or thru teacher. I'm trying to teach ds that paying attention in sch it's his responsibility, not mine. This 'project' of mine is obviously still WIP.

I fully understand and agreed! Mine is the same! Tat's why God made parents (only for a season) ...to guide our little ones so that they can stand on their own feet one day! If they can do everything in \"auto\" mode then we become obsolete liao? :?

Hi Mummies of P6s,

Can you pls advise what titles of Science assessment books you bought for your children ? I would appreciate if you can let me know as there are simply far too many titles and it's tiring to comb through every book.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I didn't buy many Science assessment books for my dd. Just a few Science guides (EPH & Marshall Cavendish) and past years papers. During the PSLE talk on Sat, HOD Science advised to keep all Science text books from P3 onwards. Sorry for not being of much help.
Elder boy is in P6 (CH), the younger one in P2(HU).

P6? How's the PSLE preparations going? It's coming soon :scared: I can imagine how stressed we can get during this period! Do you think PHPS has effectively prepared your boy for this upcoming milestone?

I think PSLE should be ok. Very pressurised last year. This year more relaxed, less homework compared to last year. So unlike other schools which has supplementary lessons daily, PHPPS only twice a week.

#1 has been quite consistent in his performance since P1, so not very worried till I came to this forum and learnt of other avenues like the maths olympiad training classes. Though PHPPS has engaged a 3rd party (Hot House) to conduct Maths Olympiad Course, I think it is insufficient. If only I knew DSA favours Platinium/Gold holders, I would hv spent the money to get more training for the boy. But no point crying over spill milk now.
Hi Jennifer

Can I ask you, did your elder boy had any supplementary class in Jun hols when he was in P6, I am thinking of signing up some camps for my DS but I am thinking they should have supplementary class in Jun. Do you remember which week or days did your DS have his supplementary class.

TIA for your feedback

Regards
Priscilla

No worries.
I got quite a bit of Science assessment books to revise for CA/SA.
Like for eg the P5 CA1, other than 2 topics under Cycles, P3-4 topics will also be tested. So I got him to do 'Living/non-living things' as well as 'magnets'. Shocked that I can use up Science assessment books :!:
As I have a younger child in P1, I've kept up all my son's books.

paiseh, need to ask you abt this Monday art assignment. My boy brou back some irregular shapes (artblock paper material). Are the children supposed to trace the outline and then do free expression drawing? Any theme?

My son also not very sure about it. He said not necessarily need to be done. So he just totally ignore it. don't know correct or not?
IJJ, What did your dd said since they have the same teacher.

S6169, think you shld get your boy to do sth.
I am so sorry. So busy with stuff yesterday. According to her :-

1. Fold paper into half. Cut along the line.
2. Fold one of the sheets (half sheet) until it about the size of 小书. Cut out the rectangle.
3. Cut a shape out of the rectangle.
4. Think and design pattern with the shape. Trace it repeatedly on the other half sheet of paper to make the pattern.
5. Repeat 3 more times with different shapes.

I know this is just too late. :imsorry:

Today, she says it will be batik painting.
