 so huge jump? i remembered my dd1, was in her p5 & p6, MA still easy to keep 100, and HCL ard 90, EL was 80+, maybe now more difficult? more challenge? :|[/quote]Wow P5, P6 Still Can Get MA 100?
yup P5 n I'm struggling or rather, she has bn struggling with time mgmt. Not so diligent dis year so I prep her to expect poor ca1 results. V little time for revision:(periwinklejoy:

My elder boy had no prob with EL then. HCL was and still is a struggle for him. Sci was ok, just that HOD was newly appointed that year, so new HOD, new stds in how answers are to be more specific. MA was the killer, more wordy, more steps and new topics.
For my elder boy, there was an almost 20+ points drop in his MA. HCL also slipped to 70+. He took my advice lightly n did not practice enough for MA.
I think not every pupil will find P5 too difficult esp if the child has been hardworking.
Your child in P5 this year?
any advice for me on helpg her dis year?
How Many Years ago was that?
In My Gal's P5 CA1 Last Year, think the Highest was 88 Vs 100 in P4 SA2, if not mistaken. Don't think AnyOne Get 100 in Any Subject ....

I sent in the letter when I went to pick up my boy this afternoon. Was only told of his masterpiece being used as a sample when I asked him over lunch whether his work is accepted.
I seriously think you should bring this matter to the school authority. Even under Singapore judicial system, we do not shame the 1st time offender in littering. What more about an assignment. Considering the majority in the class did not get it right last Mon shows that his teaching methodology is questionable. He is very fortunate that my dd is not in his class. I'll :torchme: him. :xJennifer:
My boy got his art work flashed on the visualisor today as a sample of wrongly done assignment. He came back with the right version 1/2 done in sch.
My boy also folds the paper into 1/2. I find the art folio a clumsy bag.
If the instructor used my boy's work as a mere sample to show the other pupils that this was not what he wants to do done, I am ok as he is talking abt the subject matter, not any personal attacks. That's why I asked the HOD whether the classroom Mr Chin used has a CCTV installed. We can then know what exactly went on during his lessons. Whether he has resorted to unnecessary scolding or passed demeaning remarks. -

If We look from another View Point ....
May Be He's Trying to Show by example what's Right and What is Not, and Not specifically picking on any students' work?
Parents, Notice from your posts that there are a number of students Doing Similar Mistakes in their Master pieces ....
But May Be this Mr Chin could put in a disclaimer B4 flashing the Incorrectly Done Art Work, like saying many of the students did not do it correctly and submit Art work similar to this ....
Then it will Not Be = \"Public Shaming\"?

Always heard that P3 to P4 is a jump, P4 to P5 is a bigger jump. In P5, almost a PSLE standerd. What does these mean? Jump as in the suject or exam difficulties or the marking standerd.

I find Pri 2 to Pri 3 already a very big jump and DD has a hard time coping with all the homework. -
Funx3:
Thanks Funx3. Now already feel the difficult of those questions, especially for the kids. Some time, it is very difficult to explain to them. P5 even worse? :!:S6169:

Actually the jump is from p2 to p3 followed by p4 to p5.
The jump refers to the level of difficulties and subject depth. Son at p5 this year has difficulties with maths, science and languages. Answers are expected to be detailed especially for science.
