My irobot just arrived. Need to get converter. Well, let's see how this thing works.
Hi janet_lee88, how's the irobot experience so far since it's been a few months since you bought it? Am also thinking of getting one

i have a irobot. Anyone interested?
If you have home which is like mine, lots of things on the floor. Toys, newspaper, rocker, baskets etc. U may find it not so useful. U need to shift these things away or put on higher ground, otherwise the irobot cant do a good. At the end of it, i got a Dyson mini instead. Does the job faster and cleaner. -

Yes, it's been several months now. Quite used to the idea of the irobot doing the vacuum. Hubby sets it to vacuum everyday...I feel that if I want the floor to be thoroughly clean (other than the corners), I told him to set vacuum rooms one day and hall another day. Hubby clears the dirt inside every week. Honestly, I close my eyes now...spend my time and energy on kids instead.janet_lee88:

Just sharing...Hi, ya I tried already. Didn't help, but i do think my ds also has other food-related allergies even if the allergist doesn't think so (he didn't test).
Rainbow was the first vacuum cleaner that came to my mind, and frankly, if it helps, I don't mind the price because we are really suffering. I borrowed one for use and it didn't seem to make much difference - but it sure sucks out a lot of dust!!
I did more internet research later and apparently it doesn't really help with dust mites. The particles are returned into the air and unless you clean out the bowl really well after each use, it can breed more mold. That's what I read lah, don't have time to pull out the research now. But I know some people really love their Rainbows.
I've been using Rainbow for the past 9 yrs and still using it DAILY, other than the price at the inital stage (did instalement for 1 yr). We don't use broom at home (as broom will make the dust fly when you sweep), so it's totally relying on the machine. It's powerful I can say..At times, I'll bring over to my parents and in-law house for spring cleaning...haha... Fully utilised the warranty !
My DH and DS1 has sensitive nose problem. But it improved over the years without you knowing it, not over days or weeks. We vaccum our bed/sofa weekly as I read somewhere that dustmites reproduced in 10days.
Another reason may be -- Aircon. Aircon trap dusts too !! Clean and service regularly. Before I change to my new aircon last yr, I washed it with Rainbow too. Now, since the new aircon has serviceman to clean it for me, I only wash the filter every 2wk.

You should get your hubby to open up maybe once in 6 months or so to tarally clean the irobot inside out. This will help to prolong the life of the irobot. Or else you will need to write off after 1 or /2 yearsβ¦

hello everyone
I have been using a Rainbow for the past 8 years - handed down from my parents.
The machine is now 20+ years, and has finally conked out.
It is not beyond repair, but because it is so old - i am preparing for that ONE DAY that they stop producing the parts, hence forcing me to upgrade.
I have since bought myself a second hand Rainbow, a current version.
Is anyone interested in buying a brand new Rainbow vacuum?
If you are, i can give u my old set and u can then use it to trade in for a new set.
My old set is worth $800 i think, so that will give u some savings.
SMS me at 9747 9289 if you're interested.
I can hold on to the machine for a while, but not forever lah
