I love using fruits for soup. Recently started using watermelon skin to boil soup. Ingredients for the soup are watermelon skin, fox nuts, ribs, dried scallop, dates (mi zao).

Another all time fav is apple soup. Ingredients are green apples, ribs, nan bei xing, red dates and dried scallop.

Will be trying out pineapple soup next. Using chicken bones.

Hi all, I’m interested to start cooking soup for my family but not sure where to start.

I personally love cantonese soup ‘lou for tong’ like pear/apple etc but i can’t seem to google any recipes!

        Can anyone share with me?

        Thanks in advance!

simple, boil it with a little pork ribs and chicken or chicken bones for taste then add a few red dates or black dates for the sweetness. for better effect add some almond ( nan xing bei xing) . boil till water turns chalky. it will taste really good.

May I ask, what other soups can one boil with black chicken (other than those pre-packed herbs)? Thanks.

Black chicken with just ginseng will do?

I just came back from Hock Hwa and bought some herbs for soup. Also bought ginseng to boil soup. My DH and DD are going to be so happy with all the soup they are going to be drinking soon. 😉

i will put in 淮山 (Huai Shan) dried one, and some wolfberries,
can also add some red dates, if u're not afraid of \"heaty\", taste is better. 😄

i also get all my chinese herbs from hock hua too. :hi5:

today, i boiled 猪 肚 汤 with 白果 and pepper.
my family, esp hub, loves this soup very much.
