A friend mentioned to me that once Girls have their menses, they don't grow in height anymore. Is it true? What about boys huh? when do they stop growing?

the nurse who came to my gal's school recently (rountine checking) said that too, which makes me worry of her height.

Oh, really? the nurse said that? maybe it has some truth to it then.

Actually I remember I stopped growing or grow very little after my menses come. That's why I thought maybe what my friend said is true.
aiyo .. if I tell this to my niece ...she would be very sad :gloomy: :gloomy: :gloomy: :gloomy: :gloomy:

maid, what is the wt for 一钱 ??

why need to keep overnite, can't consume on the day itself??
or the residue is for seconding helping??
The 一钱 is the way the Chinese Medical Shops measure their stuff. Just show the man this recipe and he will pack accordingly for you, don't have to worry what or how much 一钱 is.

No, you read wrongly. Drink the soup after double-boiling it the first time. Then keep the residue in the fridge to use a second time the next day so as not to waste the herbs.

Since someone mentioned about 田七,I remembered someone gave me this recipe many years ago. It's supposed to help a child grow taller.

田七一钱
泡参一钱
枸杞三钱
川穹两钱

Soak everything in a bowl for 1/2 hour.
Double boil for 3 hours.
Keep residue in fridge and reboil it the next day. No need to re-soak.
Thanks, Maid. :celebrate:

Maid, do you boil them in thermal pot, or slow cooker?

I am going to use my bigger thermal pot for that, or I might keep half the plant and use my cutie pot.

oh, great! :dancing:

10 钱 = 1 两
so 1 钱 = 3.75 g (Err.......so little  )

On this topic of TCM that helps promote growth, my late granny reminded me that when my son is a teenager to make 长骨草 for him to drink. Have anyone of you heard of this herb? :?

She calls it \"teng kut chao\", but I'm unsure if I translated it to the Mandarin right. Also, I'm not a TCM user, so I'll really appreciate any info about this. 😄
